altruism does not exist - everyone does things for themselves, whether it be because they get something out of it, whether that be a "feel good" feeling, or something tangible. Even ppl like you, who log out, are only doing it so you can "feel good" about yourself... =P

Actually, you're oversimplifying that one - I try to be nice because I feel that being considerate of the game's community as a general attitude improves that game's community, in however small a way, then that in turn improves my experience of the game. Also you're defining the word "altruism" as an absolute, you're referring to "pure altruism" which is an ideal and a bit out of context in this case.
