FFXI does this, not to an extreme extent, but it does have dynamic terrain, especially in Abyssea.

Interesting. What happens with the terrain in Abyssea?


I think people are expecting too much with this event when you think about it. I don't think any of the regions will change. They'd have to redesign the routes and locations for every leve, every gathering node/leve, all the quests, missions and all the mob placements. That's a huge task.
