Unable to even see NA servers. Been over 24 hours now. I'm seriously thinking of filing a complaint with Consumer and Corporate Affairs Canada over false advertising and breach of contract.

^ cheers for that, I hate using Twitter.
Guess that's me done for the evening then!
I have no idea what I'm doing...
Plus aion put in an anti AFK system within days of launch.. the 9 hour queues were mostly gone by this stage. Oh how i wish for 9 hour queues with this game.... at least i could go do something.

unable to login for 3hours, of which at least 2hrs non-stop trying...

True, I played GW2 and SW:TOR at start and had no issues with it, but I did eventually stop playing them within 3 months because I found them boring and unfulfilling.Even without the problems I would consider it a miracle if less than 50% leave. It's not that FFXIV is especially bad, but that is just the way with MMO's nowadays. GW2 was the same as was Terra as was the secret world and the list goes on and on.
That is why SE is most likely hesitant on aquireing new hardware, because there is no way they'll need it in a few weeks... That's why SE is kinda dumb for not going for cloud technologies.
Why would SE sell me a game and tell me its problems will be all fixed next week which is probably a lie. If you need till next week you should have made the release date next week. What makes you think you can take peoples money like that you owe me a full refund. I don't want this stupid game anymore thanks for ruining my weekend I could have bought a new release game that I could actually play.
Were just going to have to deal with this mess. At this rate ARR will go Free To Play just like the last flop.
As for now: This issue is still reproducible, it's impossible to login into game during prime time, it's even impossible to obtain list of NA/EU servers

<sigh> I was doing my "log in routine" for 20 min now and after that server became unavailable... I usually buy mmos few days after release so this is the worst launch I have ever seen. Hopefully they will figure this out soon...
One of the reasons I thought GW2's business model was the best for MMOs. Sure there are people who'll play for years, but that's probably ~1% of launch users. Let us pay for the game then play it on and off, avoiding all the hassle of subscriptions. If people think it is boring after one month, maybe the can come back when new content is there, and they won't be turned off by restarting their subscription. Just seems smarter these days.
Le venting.
