I'm pretty sure that simply expanding the server capacity is cheaper and easier to do than an anti-AFK system.

unable to update yet again about 3 minutes of availability before they dropped
I managed to about 10 minutes ago, but each attempt to login got a 1017. Now I'm back to being unable to load the NA/EU server list. One step forward, two steps back...
same problem here. Servers seem to be dropping/disconnecting. I'm getting error 2002.
I think the problem is while they are trying to fix stuff, 100000 people are spamming the login trying to get in, instead of waiting. BUT the reason for this is their piss poor communication skills. Twitter is there for a reason SE- USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Updating the lodestone once every few hours doesn't do much...
No .. because the programming work is done inhouse .. they only play for overtime and it's an investment for the future. It's on the other hand very unlikely that they'll need that extra server capacity in a few weeks. What to do with it then?

Wasn't this most recent recovery supposed to address the inability to get NA/EU server list business? Still having the problem.
They are aware of the problem, this was on the twitter news feed.

And to the person that said its not like they can make/implement an afk fix in a few days...you are quite wrong. Its actually extremley simple. Without writing code simply:
If (lastserverquery) >= 15 then (userlogout)
The coding of course would be different and longer depending on what language the game was written in...but you get the point. It wouldnt take long at all.
