chocobo porters are meant to go from a city to outpost or outpost to city, not outpost to outpost. I "think" they did this because of how easy it is to get around.

As Tenko said, large crystals are used in two ways, the teleport command (pay a fee to teleport to a crystal depending on how far away you are) or you can set 1 crystal as your "home point" and use the return command. The small ones in town allow you to quickly teleport around town. The large crystals cannot be used to teleport anywhere.

one last thing to note is that you can set a "secondary homepoint" at one of the three main city Inns. So this effectively allows you to be able to teleport between two cities with the return command every 15 minutes.

Honestly, I think they should charge much MUCH more for teleporting between crystals, like 1000gil minimum. it's too easy to get around! I can go between all the cities for around 900gil. almost no reason to use boats and airships...just my opinion.

You can also set 3 Favourite Crystals. Teleporting to those will only cost half the money it normally would.

As for more expensive teleporting, I don't know about that. Money does not come easy in this game, if you have done all the quests there are. From there on it is 3 guild leves every 8 hours or something like that. We will have to see how it develops when more people have reached max. level.

that's true, but i'm sure there is some way end game to make money. I just feel like crystal teleportation should be "last resort" or for the rich.

The smaller crystals can be used to travel between other smaller crystals as well as the large one, but as far as I know, you can't travel from the large crystals.

You can use the town aethernet from the large crystal, you just have to select the option from the interact menu before the destinations will show up.

I think you can travel from outpost to outpost, but they have to be within the same zone.
