Getting mad at a summoner for taking some strain off you is not where you should be directing your mads.

Beginner Tanks should learn to hold multiple mobs at beginner lvls not at later lvls, your pet only serves to let them be lazy and is teaching them the wrong way to tank.

i personally hate the tank pet, i like to control the battle field. it irk's the hell out of me when some pet just nonchalantly takes my aggro with no effort after spamming flash.

I just tell the ACN in any group I'm in that's using Topaz Carby to put him away and use Emerald. If he doesn't, I just afk until he does or leaves. Nobody controls aggro in my parties but me.

My biggest issue with bad players in dungeons are DDs that don't know how to attack my target. I think they are somehow unaware that the giant arrow going from me to a mob is an indicator of my target. So to fix the problem, I've been marking targets with numbers so they know the order I plan to kill in.

Only have one rule when tanking in MMOs.
"You spank it, You tank it".

I had a tank today that didn't hold aggro in Halatali. I knew when i did a poke to a mob he started on and i took a chunk of hate.
I had to DPS very slowly because I didn't want all hell to break loose.

Fairie (or how ever it is spelled) seems to have a lot of tanks, Heals are rare here, also thanks for marking where that enmity meter I was searching for it in a dungeon today and just couldn't find it :P

Had this today, was somewhat annoying but we did okay and I had her put the tanky pet away for end boss in Toto-Rak. So far it has been not bad overall, noticed some archers like to peel one away and kite it around which hasn't been a problem so far but I am dubious about later on.

All I have to say, you hate waiting for a tank, or having the bad luck of getting a "bad" tank, then... go level up marauder/warrior or gladiator/paladin, and you wont have to deal with this anymore.

Or make some new friends, maybe some that can tank according to your expectations and run dungeons together. Making (multiple) threads about this won't fix your problem.

    I play GLA+CNJ.

On CNJ I rarely get bored. It seems that now, a proper healer (i.e. not one wearing level 5 gear to level 20 dungeon) can out-heal most mistakes bad tanks make.

Just today I had a self-righteous tank that insisted on "kiting" the lizard boss in Halatali, but kiting it in the water. Needless to say, he ignored my repeated requests to move out of the water. The 2 DPS complied and moved to me, while the tank dies, blaming lag.

Then I continued to heal tank the boss myself from 75% onwards and the DPS both went "oh duh".

At the moment a healer could hold everything together in all the leveling dungeons. And that's part of the reason bad tanks exist; they're bad not because they're bad, they're bad because the consequences of their actions had always been fixed or lightened by healers.

I do find that when I'm on my tank, 9 out of 10 in-progress groups with no tank deserved it. After trying for three times to communicate with three different such groups, I've given up on using the join in-progress function completely. It's just not worth the trouble. They'll learn when they're 50 and keep getting dumped or getting booted off real content. :3

There's going to be bad tanks; Being rude about it doesn't help anyone. Sometimes you'll run into jerk tanks.. that's life. Everyone starts somewhere and it is everyone's job to watch their hate (as many have said before). So please be kind.

Where in the game do you learn to be a good tank?
