I respect Square for the efforts they are making, but when we pre-order a game for early access and are only able to play for about 30 minutes that entire time, and then when official release comes out are only able to play for 6 hours if lucky in the first 3 days, something is wrong. I paid for the game, and in turn paid for those 30 days you claim are free. I would have gladly paid the up front $15.00 to be able to play on a stable game from the get go.
I agree with you that the initial month is part of the game purchase and is therefore not free, and as far as I can tell from Yoshida's latest letter, exactly what you said is being taken into account and that they are looking into extending the inital "free" play period to offset the time that players are not able to play. We will probably get more info concerning this after things are in a better state.
