    SE is currently at work with expanding their NA/EU data centers and expects the process to be complete by early next week. This is to circumvent the massive number of login requests. I assume that once these issues are resolved, character creation and login restrictions should be lifted from these servers.

    Tell your friends to be patient until then.

    I've already gotten a few of my friends to create their characters on the same new server. Things are better now (they LOVE the game, so it's not AS important), but I still need to get over there to start my FC. :/ Aye, I guess things will happen when they happen.
