I'm hoping that is is actually fixable by just a phone call.
Shouldnt take no more than two days at least if so.

It's funny, I'm on BT Infinity and right now I could download a torrent at around 5-6MB/s yet they shape the way I play Final Fantasy XIV? Hmm...

Thanks for the information and advise. Luckily I am out of contract so will hold on a little longer to see if the issue can be resolved, and otherwise switch if necessary.Even though EE may use BT's lines/exchange, it's up to EE if they apply traffic management to your contract. AFAIK, EE do use traffic management on all their tariffs unfortunately. If you're out of contract, you could look elsewhere for your broadband services but make sure you read the small print regarding P2P and peak hours.
BT's new Unlimited Extra does not have traffic management at any time of day so you're free to P2P and play FF14 without issue. I changed over to Unlimited Extra from Option 3 this morning and my rubberbanding issues I've had from launch have disappeared and it's now running how it should.
Since it's suggested a solution is being worked on for all BT customers (not just Unlimited Extra), hopefully a similar solution can be found for Orange (EE) customers. I'm sure there are many Orange (EE) customers playing FFXIV:ARR who are tied into a contract for many months. I do feel it's very unfair if Orange will not co-operate on the matter, as their traffic management policy is designed to throttle non-time sensitive data transfers such as P2P, so that gaming and other time sensitive activities can be prioritized and enhanced! In fact the opposite is happening in this case.
Either way, if Square-enix is able to clarify whether they are also working with Orange (EE) as well, it would really help me and others decide what to do.

fingers crossed people, im glad theyve at least acknowleged nearly 30 pages of woe!
"Your former glories and all the stories, dragged and washed with eager hands..but oh your city lies in dust my friend!"
Same issue here and I am with BT. Was working fine up until tonight though?

The exact same issue exists with the BBC iPlayer on PS3 being treated as P2P by BT. This has been happening since I've been with BT (18 months or so) and there is still no solution.
And then there's this...

Just a warning: don't get your hopes up.
I'm still crossing my fingers though!

"We've been told only BT Wholesale can fix this... but that BT Wholesale only talk to other carriers! We'll keep trying."
What is BT wholesale?
For all that is holy...

EE have told me that they need YOU to contact them.
I can quote the email again if you want.
Okay, all of you on EE please keep posting we NEED that clarification.

Not 100% sure lol but when BT techs send you to a speed test site the address is something like www.speedchecker.com/btwholesale (but not that as its a blank page ><)
