200K per server....
200K per server....
Dem numbers
I love how in the GW2 graph they post the numbers of times player resurrected other players as a good thing, when in fact its a reflection of a poorly designed game that killed people with almost no chance to avoid it.Yes that's what they claim is their record (https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net...c-590x3215.jpg). It's very possible FF ARR can surpass that when they fix the server issues. The real test is how they do 6 months from now.
I stopped playing that crap when i realized that.

That is crazy...but I would have thought more would be online than that...especially day one go live. I guess considering all the info thrown out here that this is quite a big deal. It felt like in Gridania at the Main Crystal there were 100's at times during the beginning. It felt really crowded with names everywhere.
Server: BEHEMOTH
FC: CASCADIA
Playing since Beta phase 3
This^ I remember around 2004-2005 seeing well over 4k people on Garuda server, The way ARR is set up now it seems to have around 4k concurrent logins per server, seeing as XI could handle this 8-9 years ago they should have prepped for more than that. I'm just saying. It baffles me why every online game company tries to get away with the bare minimum and then has to scramble every single time at launch. It's better to have more resources and have to scale back than not enough to where people can not play and have to spend even more time trying to upgrade.
Here in IT our network and server admins do the same thing, barely give us space on our web or SQL server and then moan when they end up having to come in on a weekend to upgrade it later because they can't bring it down on weekdays. Always prep ahead!!
You heard it too, didn't you? the voice... of the wind....
Eh, almost 190k people is a LOT of people. If you can see 100s, consider that it's almost 4000 people per server, mostly focused around the cities because you start there. That is crazy...but I would have thought more would be online than that...especially day one go live. I guess considering all the info thrown out here that this is quite a big deal. It felt like in Gridania at the Main Crystal there were 100's at times during the beginning. I'm sure your IT department has unlimited funds and is not required to cut costs as much as possible and is free to buy the most expensive equipment.
185k players is nothing to boast about. ff11 still has what 350k playes? and like 1.1mil at its peak of success. 185k players a month isnt going to pay the bills/make them there money back.
