AOE issues preventing me from beating titan.

Connection latency / Server Lag. Basically your client is registering that you are really far away but the Server isn't getting those updates (hence why your party members see you standing in the AOE).

It's a latency thing; you just work around it until either your connection or the server's connection improves. You can try to close out of all other network applications (Skype, Axon, Vent, Teamspeak, uTorrent, Steam, etc.) and see if that improves your latency. Until SE adds more servers to deal with the congestion all we can do is twiddle our thumbs.

I don't have anything else running other than the game, I'm lv41 now and I've managed to clear titan through sheer luck, but I'm running in to more and more bosses that I just can't beat without being able to dodge these attacks. It's annoying because this is ONLY happening with AOE attacks, my healing is spot on, nobody is moving funny there are no other signs of lag at all, this isn't happening to anybody else in the same instance as me, or on the same server as me (that I'm aware of).

I guess it's too much to ask that square actually provide some technical support in their technical support forums, right?

It's a known latency issue.

EU servers are located in USA too.
You can hope that it will get better if SE speaks with ISP in Britain to let them recognise FFXIV traffic not as peer2peer traffic.

I have the same issue, lv47 tank, and it would be crucial to avoid AoE attacks, which i do, as soon as i see the red mark i move way out of there, often i go completely behind them, and i still get hit. I failed many attempts because of this lag, and it is quite frustrating. Currently i am at the final boss in Aurum Vale,and i always get hit by bad breath. This needs to be fixed. Fix this AoE latency!!!
