One Free Transfers Coming?

I don't see how the market will be that greatly affected this early into the game. If they were worried about that... why let legacy people move their characters and keep all their gil and items? as well as crafting and gathering levels?

They don't keep all their gil, not even close to it, and their transfer isn't going to happen for quite some time, like 3 months down the road if I remember right, I think it was in the dev letters, you lose like 90% of your gil with the server transfer though.

The only thing i remember about them losing gil was with the shifting of pricing. where all gil got reduced by 10:1. And there was a transfer during P4 i think for legacy people to migrate to other servers. I may be wrong about this. And i don't recall anything about them losing anything as a result of the transfer.

So, if I have someone that I got to buy the game, but now my server (daibolos) is locked for character creation, then how should I tell them to proceed? Make a character on another server so that they can get started and then use a free transfer to either join them or they join me?

Is it likely that SE will give a free character transfer to another world. (Not legacy related)

Nothing confirmed on how or if the "free" character transfer will happen.
But... there is hope that once the new servers go up that this may happen within the next week. So i'd say it's up to your discretion on whether or not you want to both play on separate servers for the time being, or have your friend wait until the server loads are somewhat lifted so that there is no question whether or not he will be able to log in and play on a given world.

In short. I personally would wait to play until the chatter about not being able to log in due to too many people dies down and then register the game and play my free 30 days

Thanks for the advice, I guess that is what I will do, and hopefully they post something about it soon.
