Please tell me there will be less healers soon...

I've been a healer for 10+ years .. and I was super excited to go scholar and whm.

Now that I've noticed 40% of the player base ALSO intends on healing .. its killed that for me .... Do you think the amount of healers will die down any time soon? especially scholars...

Don't take it bad but you seem to complain about people playing the new jobs when yourself are currently leveling that class as well...
It will eventually not be everyone's cup of tea but yeah, many people are trying the 2 new jobs so yeah... need to wait

Edit: interesting, on my server I noticed much more SMN than SCH
I think maybe because the DPS jobs are a bit crowded, you have more chances to run a dungeon as SCH than SMN maybe

No I mean I understand the new job thing, but in every MMO ive played, healers are generally not that popular, Even in this. I see 4x as many scholars as I do SMN. Its not about scholar though its about healers in general. There is ALOT of healers which is very unusual for an MMO...

For people leveling SMN, they are queuing as SCH because of a decreased queue times versus a DPS. Once the flavor of the month classes are leveled and people begin to focus on other jobs, the queue times for healers will go down.

Well 3 main reason for this I figure the white mage need ACN as 15 so none of the healer are diverting out. Second The unicorn mount was place only on the cnj quest some people like to collect mounts even if I find the chocobo much better animated :/ and last since the Thm can use the cnj skills and form a Red Mage (sorta) they be nuts not to get protect and cure for the thm at the very least if not raise for their friends. oh yes and Paladin as well I am guessing this was done intentionally to avoid not enough healer and now they flooded us with them

Don't be afraid. The amount of healers willing and available will soon decrease. Up until now the healing mechanics i have seen are not any more interesting then anywhere else (one could argue, that they are even more "generic"). In some time only the devoted and desperate will be remaining because to most of the people, healing will be no fun.

if you are afraid because the big healer population, you should start to play a Gladiator. Then you will be special again... xD A QQ post because a lot of people (like you) are leveling a healing class is a joke.

I have noticed that there are a lot of healers as well. I think half of my free company is excited about being the healer of the group... which is very strange.
But I don't let that dim my love for healing jobs, I just have to become the best of us all *simples* :P

But to be honest, the way this game is (that you can level to 50 in less than a week) everyone will soon have multiple jobs at 50 and only then people start to really choose the jobs they really like playing as. I hopped on my 50 warrior for example yesterday and I actually had a blast hacking up the monsters without fear of dying after 4 hits.

You must either be playing a different game, or have healed only up to Toto Rak or something
Healing in this game is by far the most fun Ive had as a healer in an MMO... Especially after 35, when WHM gets Regen, your options really start opening up, and coupled with the dungeon mechanics, there is a huge skill cap for healers in later content
Dont know about Scholar though, will have to try it eventually at some point, but I absolutely love White Mage
