Because there is a grace period. You don't need to put in a game code until the grace period ends. So early access is longer than you think. Hell, this Square-Enix email says it, so who is confused?

Early Access ends on the 29th, but the reason its that is a free 2 day grace period between that and the 14 day 'Welcome Back Campaign'.
Service officially starts on the 27th, and SE hasn't said anything otherwise in that regards. Why would they release a game on the 27th if you can't access it for 2 days? That would tick a lot of people off
