    Scholar So Far

I haven't gotten to test the scholar out too much yet since the servers want to poop us out every 7 minutes. But here are a few things I've found so far.

    1) The fairy is annoying! As any of you who have played ACN (should) know, there are two stances for how you want your pet to act: 1) Guard - In this stance the pet will attack anything you have hate on, and unless you use Obey, it will use it's abilities freely, and 2) Steady - In this stance the pet will only attack what you tell it to. Well the problem I have is even if you have fairy in Steady stance, the second you tell her to heal someone, she flips automatically to Guard. Then she starts spamming her buffs and heals on her own. That's fine I suppose, but I want control of my fairy. I don't want to need her heal while she is mid buff. A nd I don't want her to waste a 2 minute cool down regen when we are just standing around.

    2) I <3 Adloquium. I've only gotten to use it in instanced story fight so far, but its a very nice heal. Only has cure potency of 300, so at my level its healing about 200. BUT it also puts up an equal damage absorption. Further, the help text says the barrier is equal to the HP healed, when really its equal to the potential hp healed. So if my heal hits 200 but you only actually heal 50, you still get shield of 200. Further, if my heal crits, for say 300, the shield doubles and absorbs 600. Downside? Very expensive compared to Physick.

Finally - has anyone found a way to make a macro with pet commands? If so, what's the text command. Thanks!!

if you use 'obey' and then command her to heal, will the fairy continue to heal that target without using her buffs?

No, once you issue her the command to heal she does what ever she wants.

I'm hoping this is just a glitch. Otherwise there is absolutely no point in even having a Steady stance if she flips out of it the second you issue a command.

    Hey Jojo,

So aside from, you should log out so I can get on and play now.

have you tried "/pet" or "/companion" I know that the "<pet>" place holder works as I use it to heal my carby. Sadly I can't test shit cause I can't get in, 2 solid days of pre-release non-action. At least yesterday I could chat though lol

Anywho, if you can "/pet" then you could
    /pet "Cure" <whoever>
    /wait 3
    /pet "Heel"
    /wait 1
    /pet "Steady"

I don't know if it's still /pet but I remember that from somewhere once upon a time

Scholars right now doesn't have even basic tools to micro-control healing of the pet.
Even in field when i ORDER her to heal target she heals herself, so i guessing order healing only works in party. That's not right.
What needs to be done imo
    1. Ability to disable skills from auto-use.
    2. Fix field healing
3.Ability to give orders to pet while Scholar casting.
    4.Manual mode without any AI.

Right now scholars can't heal efficiently.

This is pretty much how i feel about our pets. The guard<->steady switching seems kind of broken to me (gets on my nerve as arcanist/summoner too). The pet AI is unreliable, but our means to micro it are very limited. You cant order it to do anything while you are casting and it starts doing its own thing once commanded to heal. So far the pet management is really sub-par and in need of dire attention.

    Ugh Pet

Just did HM after getting SCH job, gotta say i absolutely love the idea behind the job but the pet control MUST improve, You need to be able to command your pet while your casting, and you need to be able to turn off your pets automatic casting per ability.

If these 2 features were added the job would be much more bearable to play. Right now the pet seems to be best just left to cast embrace as a secondary heal. I tried various things like "Place" this seems to work well enough and it still uses its abilities.

It seems like the healing pet Eos is semi-useless at the moment unless its an encounter that you can be standing relatively close together as the AoE HoT has a fairly short range on it. Selene isn't as bad as her buffs last for 30s with a 60s CD so you would be using them on CD anyway. (It will be using one after the other as you can only have 1 up at a time). So therefore positioning of her isn't as vital and she can just spam embrace to help healing.

I believe once you get a SCH AoE heal with the current system Selene will be the optimal go to pet, the buffs are quite powerful and as stated early will be pretty much used on CD due to their duration
