The emotes are terrible in this game. They don't even match up with their descriptions. There's also about 6 different emotes to show anger.

Its obvious there was some sort of translation issue.

Would really like to see the emotes be overhauled.

Hey, you brought it up. I just couldn't disagree more with you.

On example (of many):
/fume = You look disappointed

Also would be nice to see more creative ones instead of 10 iterations of angry/upset etc.

Its really not that big of deal though. For now they are sufficient.

That's not the SS I was looking for, but I do share the love for the emotes in FFXIV. The huge variety, the smooth animations, the attention to detail, the personality; it is all gravy to me! Some real top-knotch-second-to-none-calibur works they gave us to express ourselves in a plethora of different ways.

Though I am saddened that we are missing the /nod emote. I think /yes makes you nod, but it is just not the same.. not the same..

/nod was my trademark in XI and handled almost all of the delicate situations thrown at me. From accepting a simple party invite, to consoling a friend whos' dog just got hit by a minivan.

I am but a lost sheep without my /nod emote

If I could change emotes, I'd change cheer and salute. Salute for nation based salutes. And cheer for something like the "hahaha! Woooooo!" No one seems to tire of that.

The Elezen /dance is my fav, it's so funny like they really can't be bothered or something.

I would like it if they added more /dances though I miss my lively jig ^^

Also would be great if they added some kind of auto emotes that works if you typed something. So if you typed lol in chat then your character would start laughing, if you did ; ; you would cry, if you said something in LS chat then you would hold a finger to your ear so it looked like you were talking and listening to the linkpearl just some silly things like that to make the place a bit more lively.

the text commands for the emotes are just wrong. /meh is supposed to be confused? like wtf. /huh made a lot more sense. its so unintuitive it always forces me to open the emote menu.
