Not to come off sounding like a jerk, but PS3 FFXIV is no where close to 1080p. With that said, I perfectly understand if the PS3 can play it better than some PC's out there. Many laptops and consumer PC's are not meant to play games.
Yeah that's where I am starting off, and it's rough right now. Maybe once I leave the lil forest city it'll get better.
Either way i'm building a moderate gaming box next week and will be hooking that up to the TV shortly. So my problems should be washed away.
Most games on PS3 are 720p native or at best 1080p upscaling only.
Though the upscaling is uncommon.

Once I was able to adjust the HUD layout to my liking, adjusting size and placement etc - and setting up my targeting filters for quick cycling. I haven't really seen much on my end to dislike yet. Hope it clears up for those having issues.
PS3 came in the game at the very early onset of the HD "revolution". I appreciate what they could do then, but it makes complete sense they can't 1080p anything in a game. Some games couldn't actually hit 720p (Red Dead Redemption). The PS3 has 256mb DDR3 of video memory. The average video card these days has 2GB DDR5. The PS4 will have a pooled 8gb of DDR5. There's just not a lot there to handle a major MMO release. I absolutely appreciate what Square-Enix tried to do, which was fulfill a promise to Playstation players. But honestly, I couldn't recommend the PS3 as anything more than a last resort option for playing the game. If you can only play it on PS3, it will absolutely be fun enough. But the moment it hits PS4 next year, switch, you'll be so glad you did.
Can say is very decent how it runs on PS3. Even with a lot of ppl on same area/screen, frame rate aren't so bad compared with other console MMO ive played.

I have not had any issues with loading or lag like others have posted. I did hear some complaints
earlier today from other ps3 users about lag, but others were fine too. While the game looks absolutely
stunning on high end PCs, its still beautiful on the ps3. Loving it so far, No complaints here :-)

I actually play on my PC with my PS3 controller.
yeah, the targeting is quite hard and for that I'll never use a healing character =D
Targetting system is shitty if you aren't in party.
I'm a healer but dungeons runs are easy.

It's ok, i mean definately not as good as PC but it's fine.
My biggest complaint, is that your gear sets and hotbars aren't saved locally so I played for a couple hours on the PC on my DRG, and i was tired so went to my bed and started on my PS3 to see what it looked like on the PS3. I had to re set up my entire character re make all my gear sets and hotbars. Which if I was on the PC wouldn't of been a problem, but it takes me forever to set up my hotbars using a gamepad.
Also because of the resoultion the chat log is so insanely scrunched up. I mean its big enough to fit like 3 or 4 words before having to break a new line. What happens when someone wants to say something that consists of 9 or more words? XD
When playing a healing character you cycle through your party members by using the party list, not actually cycling through them and the monsters and other PC's on the screen.
