Not to say that this is wrong, but I would rather wait for a community team member to confirm it as they were the ones that told us we could link the accounts for EA and play on both systems during it. Also, support has been wrong in the past with matters concerning the preorder/EA/Launch (i.e. when they said P4 characters wouldn't carry over to new accounts).

Hmm.

I'm pretty sure I remember an official post that detailed the whole pre-order, CE rewards program, and it showed that to get early-access, you had to have 1.0 legacy status OR a valid pre-order. It also showed that you could NOT apply a PC pre-order to an existing 1.0 account.

When asked for clarification, it was stated that pre-ordering a PS3 game would qualify the account for early access AND that linking a PS3 game to a 1.0 account would allow you to play on either platform, interchangeably.

Now, in the wriggle room of the wording, you CAN intuit it to mean early access is not part of that interchangeability, but it sure was implied, and close enough to be brushing with false advertising. Close enough that a great many people may start demanding refunds if it turns out to be true.

While I love this game, Square-Enix has NOT been doing very well at redeeming their failure from 1.0 in this launch. The sheer void of no communication, combined with the Rube-Goldberg mechanics involved in this account management nonsense is not winning them any love.

Hmm. I had paid for 3+ months when the game initially launched, and then some time later, so hopefully i can get in! I did have Legacy characters when i was in the beta, so hopefully that means I am in the EA as well.

I also sent in a support ticket asking what is going on with the error in the OP's post.

You can easily confirm legacy status in your account. Just look for the banner on your FFXIV registration. If you have legacy status you are supposed to get EA.

For EA you either get PS3 or PC depending on what you purchased. If you are legacy you get PC (afaik). You don't get both. Once the game goes live that might be different, but for EA its one or the other.

Then you were mislead. You only get one or the other for EA.

... I could play beta phase 4 on either side with the one single character... what makes EA so different? Heh, I could swap from one to the other and back and my character progression was continuous.

I bought an PS3 pre order on PSN, and in my service account(PSN) I can see my early access guaranteed.

But I am an version 1.0 player too, and when I log-in today on my PS3 client they said: "wait until early access", but when a log-in in my PC client they show-me this error:

I have the same issue but the other way around. I'm Legacy and have the original CE. I Pre ordered the SE PS3 for early access on the PS3. Also been playing mostly on my PS3 since Beta v3. When I attempt to log in on my PS3 it gives me that "No valid or active service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn." But I don't get that error on my PC. What gives?

Its from SE support chat. If you pre-order on PS3 you can ONLY Early access on Ps3.

^ Doesn't that contradict PC Legacy? How can I do a live chat with SE about this? I can't find a 'contact us' link.

You HAVE to enter your 2nd code in the PS3 redeem code option even if you have the Phase 4 Client. The code is not just for downloading the game. When I entered the PSN 12 digit code is started downloading the client all over again. I let it reach 5% of the 6451 MB then cancelled it and attempted to log back in the game. Now I get the same message as my PC client. "Please wait until the start of the early access period or official launch to access the game."

As a 1.0 account holder a big reason I preordered the ps3 version was to get EA since I don't have legacy status. If they only let us play EA on ps3 then I guess i'll just cancel my preorder and play my pc version on release day.
