Well yes the servers are down, but you CAN log into your account still. It shows a greyed out play button. Many people aren't getting that far though. They are receiving "No valid or active service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. "

On my ps3 I can log in, get a 2gb update, and get to a grey play button.
On PC I get the error "No valid or active service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. " without getting any updates.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be demeaning. I was just trying to say that I think because the servers aren't live yet, you most likely will be unable to link your PS3 account with SE account until they do go live. It has worked that way with pretty much all PS3 MMOs I've played.

Your Playstation Account will not link to your Square Enix account until the servers go live.

The PS3 can access the Square Enix account data though, because it showed me my account with one of my characters listed, and it generated no error when supposedly linking them.

It's possible the Square Enix server simply doesn't accept the data from PSN, but that seems like an incredibly poor design. At the very least, it should have shown an error message indicating something didn't work properly.

im going to have to agree with this because after i hit "create new service" nothing happened, it said i get my items and early access is still under my Account Management. I dont think you can screw anything up once you have client updated and the "services" selection just doesnt matter

I sure hope they change their stance on that. Being a 1.0 CE owner I'd love to actually play on the pc for EA. I ordered a ps3 copy since they said you could only get EA as a version 1er by buying a ps3 copy.
I wouldn't mind so much, except for the fact that people I know had many problems playing on the ps3, making the game much less enjoyable.

I actually think they did a good job with the controls and gamepad ui though.

I am getting the same error as the OP. I have Version 1.0 and it was registered on my account, and i played Legacy characters in the beta. I did not purchase FFXIV: ARR on either PC or PS3, as i figured my 1.0 registration would allow me to play ARR as well. Was I wrong? D:

Version 1.0 will let you play, but not early access, unless you are a Legacy player (paid 3 months after services went back up I think)

Not to say that this is wrong, but I would rather wait for a community team member to confirm it as they were the ones that told us we could link the accounts for EA and play on both systems during it. Also, support has been wrong in the past with matters concerning the preorder/EA/Launch (i.e. when they said P4 characters wouldn't carry over to new accounts).

Hmm. I had paid for 3+ months when the game initially launched, and then some time later, so hopefully i can get in! I did have Legacy characters when i was in the beta, so hopefully that means I am in the EA as well.

I also sent in a support ticket asking what is going on with the error in the OP's post.

I ordered it on the PSN also, and it clearly says I have early access when I check jsut like you... but when I log in it gives me the error on my PS3 CLIENT!! Can someone please help me.. I should be good to go.
