So carry them with you? You have 100 bag slots for that kind of stuff thanks to the neato armory chest. As you can only sell 20 items per retainer, and it's either 20 stacks of whatever, or 20 single items there is something wrong. A lot of people only need 1(for quests or whatever), but I'm not really fond of going back to my retainer every single day and put up another 20 single item just because of that.

As a seller, I simply want to sell my goods. Allowing buyers to purchase individual quantities from my stacks helps that happen. So I'm certainly in favor of this.

I would prefer that the system stays as it is. If you can buy a certain amount of a stack, the buyers will simply go for the cheapest offer per unit. When you have to buy the full stack, the seller has the option to give you a "bulk discount". It allows multiple offers to be profitable for both sellers and buyers. On very expensive or rare items, it is up to the seller if he wants to sell small stacks or single items. If there are stacks of 99 of really expensive items, you do not have to buy them, and the seller just hurts himself because he most likely won't sell his stuff - and if you have the money to buy it, you can buy it, use the ones you need and resell the rest in smaller stacks, but at a higher price per unit. You may even make profit just by reselling it in smaller stacks, because the people who may not have the Gil to buy a whole stack may be more likely to buy your small stacks.

Being able to just buy one from a stack would be dumb. If you only need one go gather/farm it. You are not required to buy mats from the market. Man people are lazy. This would make gathering worthless to the economy. I always sell stacks for a cheaper single unit price. No one would do that if you could just buy 1 from my stack. This is a terrible idea.
You seem to think you can gather/farm all crafting materials. Most recipes require mats from other crafts not just gathered materials. So if you want to craft a level 40 recipe it may also require several mats crafted by other level 40 DoHs. Now your choice is to buy an entire stack of those mats from the markets and then try and resell the unused leftovers after you finish crafting the item you wanted to make or level those other DoH to the level needed to craft all the required mats yourself. Say you wanted to make a level 40 robe but it requires a level 36 ingot and a level 33 piece of leather you can't gather those and if you don't also have those other crafts leveled you can't make them so you have to buy them from the market. Now the individual price for those items might be 5k each but since there are only stacks of 99 for sale at the market when you want to craft that item it won't cost you 10,000 gil to craft it but rather 990,000 gil. Or you could just camp the markets for a few days until somebody puts up smaller stacks of those items....if they ever do that is. You can always level all crafts at the same rate which is what I intend to do but many people may not want to level every DoH at the same time.Being able to just buy one from a stack would be dumb. This is not an issue. If someone wants to sell you 1 of an item then they shall do so in their bazaar of their own choosing. Pricing for one item would naturally be higher than the price per item from a stack. Thus if you could just nickle and dime people's stacks of items they'd just have to raise the price of the entire stack to compensate. Some people will sell smaller amounts of materials to get a higher profit per material. I think you should look at just paying that price if you absolutely don't want another 90 of some item but don't want to gather it either.

Im sorry I thought we were able to level all of the crafts. I was unaware we were only able to level 1 of them. You seem to think you can gather/farm all crafting materials. The problem is nobody is going to put up just 1 item if some crap and use up a valuable slot, but its a closed case for now. The feedback was given in Phase 3 but Dev team decided to let it stay like that in favor to the sellers. Until moar ppl "whine".This is not an issue. This is how I imagine things to pan out.
Prices are all over the place in the first week, massive undercutting takes place and prices start to normalise.
People will start selling items both in stacks and in singles, the undercutting will continue, you will get some like above who will place a stack of items for a discount, then another seller will come along and look at the current listing and make a smaller stack at a lower price and someone else will then come along and sell in singles at a lower price again.
Granted that person who sells single items at a low price will have limited space to sell items but they will sell like hot cakes and he will have made his money much faster than the person selling 99 items.
As a seller I will always try to sell my items as fast as I can, as a buyer I will always buy the cheapest item I can, unless I only need one and if they are stupidly priced I will go and gather/farm it.
I think many people here will soon realise that once the economy has normalised we will back to the old ways of undercutting regardless of stack size, thinking you can make some kind of discount on a stack isn't going to work because there will always be someone else ready to undercut you.
Of course this probably won't happen with high level gathered items as they will be very limited in number and selling these in stacks would be a mistake anyway.
Indeed, SE have proven time and time again that every time they try to diminish RMT activity it just ends up impeding the legitimate player. As an anti RMT measure, this is a failure. All you've done is make it more work. Who is willing to put more mindless work into an activity? RMT. They will gladly sit there and micromanage their sell lists all day long to make their living.
Who's edged out? People who purchased this thinking they were going to be playing a game.
RMT will always find a way around these measures.
