I thought it was said you could re-spec after a day or so? Presumably after getting ahold of a Keeper's Hymn, or similar item?

Maybe not but it justifies actual players who take pride in their chosen path. They can outweigh their efforts and dedication to those who just want to be a "Jack-of-Alls".
I like this approach to classes that split to two different jobs. Well done Yoshi-P! I'm sure there's also a resolve to dedicating another job within that class and you would want to re-allocate your stats to be used at your full potential.
To those that whine about being "Forced to chose" a job: First of all, nobody's being forced in to anything, like I'm not being force to choose what job to tank on, either Paladin or Warrior (two diff classes but same principle). I play how I want with the options I'm given.

Q41: I heard that you can reallocate your attribute points, but will this be something you can do easily multiple times?
A41: It won’t be something you can do so easily. For example, it’s not like you will be able to allocate them so today you can challenge the Great Labyrinth of Bahamut as scholar, and tomorrow allocate them so you can go as summoner. (24)Matt "Bayohne" Hilton - Community Team
seemed pretty clear to me. for yoshi's example: if DRK comes through GLD as a main class. today i play as PLD in the great labyrinth of bahamut, tomorrow allocate them so i can go as DRK. no skin off my back if all my stats are vit/mnd. i'll just reroll tomorrow full str and play DRK. or w/e drks main stat happens to be.
Yup, clear enough. I just read it backwards, or negative, or something, and missed out the 'not' and the 'won't'. Durrrr.Q41: I heard that you can reallocate your attribute points, but will this be something you can do easily multiple times?

Right, it won't be easy. You won't be able to allocate points today to play Scholar, then reallocate them tomorrow to play Summoner.A41: It won’t be something you can do so easily. But like I said, we'll have to wait and see whether the game is kind to mediocre SMNs and SCHs, or whether we'll be better off to dedicate ourselves to one or the other for longer periods of time. We shouldn't rush to judgement based on fears or guesses. The devs have probably been designing and playing these classes for months, and Yoshi-P himself said it's hard to describe, that we should try it to see.
Hmm... It's almost like job and anti-job. DRK for PLD might draw on opposite stats, too. Looks to be interesting at least.
