Well there's no way I plan on being confined to one or the other. :P And I don't think a 5% difference in base stats will affect things THAT greatly.
The keepers hymn was an item you got at lvl 30 when u unlocked a job. It wasn't specific to any job but that was the only way to get it. So you could reset your stats so you could make it work for your job. A long quest to get an item to reset your stats sounds about right.
Hey all,
In version 1.0, stats could be allocated for both the class and for the job. However, in A Realm Reborn, you will now only be able to allocate points for the class itself. As you know, the arcanist branches into two jobs (Summoner and Scholar) and as Yoshida explained in the Letter from the Producer LIVE, it will be up to players to decide how they want to allocate their stats on arcanist. Players can focus on one job or the other; or choose the respective stat to enhance - like if you want to focus on scholar's healing, you can choose MND or if you want to focus on scholar's DPS capabilities, you can choose INT. You can also take a "middle of the road" approach and maintain a good balance.
Beyond that, as Yoshida mentioned, we'll also be preparing gear with varying stats (beyond the type that players have seen thus far) that players can utilize to focus on specific stats.

Thanks for the clarification.
While not exactly good news for people who want to play all classes in the game, at least we know how it is for launch, and can give feedback as we try out both jobs.![]()
Will we be able to re-allocate points later? maybe through a quest? or do guilds still have guild points? could make it a guild point item. Will second jobs ever be added to the original classes?Hey all,

I am seriously going to beat you until battle tanks pull us apart.
Excited to hear that gear stats may not be as over simplified as we thought.
this is a good thing. makes people have to think (even if a little) before dumping points.
I dont know about this idea of Yoshi's as it may well create issue's with any new classes and jobs they release in the future . Maybe they need to ditch the classes altogether, I dont know, but normally there isnt a balance or middle of the road approach. It is either all the way 1 or the other with no middle ground. Not sure how to explain it but.. example say you go int thats awesome you will have nice dps or you go mind thats great healing but you take the middle ground you not great at anything other than possibly survivabilty, as you wont have the int to be a great dps or the mind to be a great healer you will end up being mediocre at everything. Hopefully you can understand what Im trying to explain.
One of the biggest appeals of this game is the ability for one character to play all classes. Doesn't this change make it so that if I wanted to be a good summoner I'll have to gimp my scholar? I mean if there was a way to do a quest (lets say only let you do it once a month or something) that can let you respec then sure, but at the moment I don't like the change. I'd rather the stat changes be from the gear, so you have to decide if you wanted to go with the int set or mind set, etc.
I am not sure we should worry TOO much about this, I mean, the points don't seem to actually DO that much for anyone. It doesn't seem like this mechanic makes enough of a difference. It always felt like an illusion to me, but I am more than willing to see how much its changed in ARR.
There are those that would say though that even raising say, your mp level, a few points could produce results that are intangible. Who's to say those 2 or 3 extra points won't save your life or the life of someone else. There is validity to that. I just mean don't get all broken up about choosing one set of stats over the other. You can still be good at all jobs, for some you just have a few extra stat points
