Dolphins use sonar, after all, and sonar is similar to an echo, and thus an echo is similar to The Echo, and therefore those who can use The Echo are also dolphins!
The best water I could find with a few quick searches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt_WKV_oPfs Notice the low quality water is equal to XIV's.
Honestly, I think people should care because SE's water is college student quality. I know because I was in class a year ago creating an ocean shader that looked like XIV's. It was an intro class.
They gave us the option for depth of field meaning they have the tech to produce a depth buffer. I can see that they're using it for the water but they're *just barely* scraping the potential.Originally Posted by gifthorse
There are new standards and it's weird to see a graphic's engine that seems so capable in other areas fall so far behind in this area.

Not gonna lie... that was some good water...The best water I could with a few quick searches: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt_WKV_oPfs Notice the low quality water is equal to XIV's.
The PS3 could be a reason why the water effects are rather low. I've never touched PS3 development but I do know that efficiently performing water that looks nice is always hard to make. I can't find a 360/PS3 video of great water right now..
id like to some more life inside the water, possibly the "Fish" type you can catch in it.
(or atleast some varity, dont want a shark swimming around in 2 inches of water do we...lol)
I used to be Noomy...then i took shiva's Hail Storm to my knee...
