That's a shame, but you missed the deadline. It was clearly stated on multiple websites. They don't owe you anything, and it certainly wasn't an injustice.

All i have to say is you only have 1 post.I would like to preface this with the understanding that I didn't fulfill the outlined requirements to be a Legacy Member. I discovered the reasons why after opening a ticket and speaking to Square Enix through chat support and on the phone.
I would like to reach out to the community to help those of us that believe they deserve Legacy. Let me plead my case as to why I feel like more players deserve Legacy status. The gentleman on the phone is the one that suggested I make this post to be heard. That this is the only way that Square Enix MIGHT re-evaluate who deserves Legacy.
I have been with FFXIV since beta of the original release, bought the collectors' addition and paid months and months on a subscription for a sub-par game. I wanted this game to work so badly I even have a level 49 crafter (anyone that has crafted knows this is quite a feat). I took a break from the game because I was tired of working around everything that needed to be fixed (and clearly they needed to be because of the huge "apocalypse" that happened to start the game from scratch). Even then, after I took a break from the game a friend of mine started playing again and told me about some improvements that had been made (like the ability to search the market wards without having to go into them). I started again on Aug.11th, 2012 which made it 92 days subscribed as of the end of the original release (only including the time I started playing again). After the phone call to Square Enix I found out that because I only PAID for 60 days (from the start of 2012, not accounting for the months I had paid for for a sub-par game) I didn't qualify.
I call to the many players that are in the same or similar circumstance to not sit quietly by and let this injustice stand. Let them hear you.
That 1 post is asking for legacy. Do you feel like you deserve legacy when you only have 1 post? Did you support the game? Or did you completely ignore the game until you felt it was to your standards?
Legacy is for people who supported the game not by playing it (gaining level 49 crafter) but by paying for it (via the monthly fee of only 9.99.)
I understand your frustration, but you will only find more frustration by posting in these forums because many people are very tired of people asking for something they did not bother to obtain when the opportunity was available.
Played months and months =/= paid months and months. I understand you put a lot of time into this game when it wasn't very good. But the point of the Legacy campaign was to get people to pay a subscription, not to reward everyone who ever played a lot during the free period.

People misunderstand what Legacy status was given for. It was not a "I played the game a lot when it sucked" reward... It's an "I PAID for the game when it sucked" reward.
Playing while it's free did not help SE at all. Supporting them MONETARILY however, DID help. You chose to stop supporting them, why then do you feel you deserve a reward?

OP: Help me help you. Please provide an answer to the following question:
What specific Legacy benefit(s) do you desire so much and why?
Everyone thought paid retainers and fantasia would be the end of it.
You were warned.
Cash shop in, TrystWildkey out.
I know you don't want to hear this but that's too bad: You or anyone that thinks they deserve legacy deserve nothing because they did not qualify nor did they do anything to deserve it period!!! You ignored or did not take advantage of the offer its YOUR fault no one elses and you need to stop crying about it. Stop acting like a spoiled brat and learn to deal with it. Mods please lock down these types of threads.
This the same crap that's going on, on the other forum and its getting old, very old.I managed to qualify for Legacy and only began playing in mid-May. I signed up for 90-day sub within a few days into my "free period" during the welcome back campaign last summer. It wasn't tricky or hard - the terms were clear. You just had to want to play. I really wanted to play. I was hooked. So I paid.
I really can't believe someone is making another thread about this.
I really can't believe I'm posting in it. >.<
I'm sorry you feel that way and its very unfortunate that you missed the legacy status but like a lot of said, we were given this information of the deadline through various websites and e-mails! Just got to move forward~

To be honest, i wouldn't say it like that. Back in November 2011 SE announced that they were working on 2.0 along side of 1.0. At that time 1.0 was online without asking for a subscription fee from their players. They've been telling us that they wouldn't ask for a fee until they felt that Final Fantasy XIV was worthy enough to be paid for by its consumers.
For more then a year, Final Fantasy XIV cost them a bucket load of money and they were "in need of financial support". By announcing 2.0, they gave the consumer the ability to continue playing on the condition that would pay the subscription fee for it. In order to make it interesting for the consumers as well as giving them their thanks for supporting them in time of need, they've introduced the Legacy title and Subscription type.
In order to be eligible for receiving the title of Legacy Member, you would have to pay for a grand total of 90 days worth of subscription fees starting from January 2012. Originally the offer would end around the end of June 2012, when the Beta was originally planned. However, this period was extended, resulting in an end date of the 29th of September.
If you've supported SE for at least 3 months worth of game time within that time span from the beginning of January till the end of September, you would be granted the title of Legacy member.
So, it's not really a "I PAID for the game when it sucked" reward, but more like a "I've supported SE in the development of 2.0 during the time that they needed our support" reward. That is what the Legacy Membership is all about. We believed that SE could turn this game around by developing 2.0 and we've supported them in their time of need.
Personally, i'm happy to have spent my money supporting SE in developing 2.0 because they've done something not many companies have successfully pulled off. They've turned fiasco into something beautiful.
