Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
Then why would Yoshida say it is.
[source]- All FFXIV service account holders qualify as testers in phase 3.
You get free access if you played 1.0, without need to apply to beta. In B3 practically everything in launch is present.
You can try it out as if it were the international Open beta. There are no preconditions that you must treat it as a bug-hunting test to gain access to phase 3. Only a partial NDA.

- The act or process of testing, trying, or putting to the proof: a trial of one's faith.
- An instance of such testing, especially as part of a series of tests or experiments: a clinical trial of a drug.
- An effort or attempt: succeeded on the third trial.
Trial. 'Nuff said.

<psst> A beta is not a free trial. A beta is a beta. It's not made to try the game for free. It's made to help test it, and it's not good to ascertain the final quality of a game.
Grasping at more straws I see.
Only, he never said it is. Beta =/= free trial.
Never butt kissing Skye, no need to be excessively rude here on the internet, it is much more fun to do it in person, you should try it. The point was made that no promise was made and 10 bucks is nothing to cry about.Who's crying?
I think the point made was that it's not a good idea to rescind the free trial offer for PC players, especially since it was promised, and a free trial would be a good way to get those who have quit the game to try it again and see if they're willing to pay a sub fee. It's not crying any more than people defending SE on this issue are "butt kissing".
Only, the promise was made, and multiple times. Saying that World War II didn't happen doesn't make it true.
Damn Abriael beat me to it. But, yeah, what he said. And I never said anyone was butt-kissing. I simply said people who have an issue over this are not crying any more than people defending SE on this issue are butt-kissing, which means that people are not crying and are not butt-kissing. You should learn to interpret better.
Besides, it's actually pretty rude to imply that people voicing their concerns over this are "crying" about it.

Im not so sure anymore, it seems that it might actually get undone if some of these people say so. Their word is law after all, and no matter how much proof you have, you will forever be wrong!![]()

So, could you point out to me where Yoshida or anyone else said that B3 and B4 officially qualified as the free trial period for PC players?[source]
