What is the big deal? NA companies region lock their stuff all the time and no one complains but those outside of NA. It's pretty much just marketing and nothing new in this or any other industry. "You're in NA? You can buy this and get this special item! You're in Europe? You can buy this and get this special item."

No one seemingly complained when only Europeans could participate in events unless their country wasn't included.

If it were anything else, whatever. But this is the ENTIRE 1.0 SOUNDTRACK and a Dalamud thingy. 1.0 was not Japanese-exclusive. If it were a JP-only manga with no digital bonus explaining the backstory of Hildibrand or something, I'd understand. But no, all witnesses to the end of 1.0 should be treated to anything pertaining to its harbinger.

No one said it was region locked. They just aren't localizing the sale of this OST outside japan. You could always buy it with a proxy.

Well, I wouldn't call it a rip-off. It's Blu-Ray-only, music and video. How many hours of music* must this be? And yes, the minion is a huge selling point (even as terrifying as a Dalamud minion would seem to be ).

But elsewhere Abriael posted a response he got from Soken saying to please wait for an official announcement, when he asked if it would be released in the west. So there's no hurry, we don't need an answer immediately. (Its release even in Japan is mid-August.)
