Not sure what I need to purchase?

Looking over the knowledgebase for accounts, multiple platforms, and registration codes I'm still confused as to what I need for my specific circumstance which doesn't look to be covered in these FAQs:

Will I be able to play more than one character at a time?

Important information for those who have pre-ordered the Playstation 3 version.

Can friends and family play simultaneously if they are on different accounts?

    What I need:
I want to play with my wife.
We have one PC and one Playstation 3.
I sometimes want to play on the PC, and other times play on the Playstation 3.
My wife will most likely always be on the Playstation 3.

    1) I'm guessing we need two separate service accounts, correct?

    2) Do I need a second copy of the Playstation 3 version of the game? One for her, and one for me?

    3) Do I get the cheaper Legacy member pricing on the second service account I have if one is required?

    Thanks!

    Correct.
    2) Do I need a second copy of the Playstation 3 version of the game? One for her, and one for me?
Yes, one copy per service account.
    3) Do I get the cheaper Legacy member pricing on the second service account I have if one is required?
No, only on the specific legacy account.

At least, this is my understanding.

    Thanks for the response.

Bummer, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to purchase two Playstation versions.
Maybe they'll have registration codes for sale without the actual disc for a cheaper price when the service center launches.

Couples that are sharing. I think the easiest thing would be to:

    1. Buy another PS3(2 consoles total), and two copies(PS3) of the game. Both PS3's are a registered SE account. Hence One account for you and another account for your spouse/life partner.

    2. One computer can have different accounts logging in, just not at the same time.

People need to think of the PS3 as a personal diary. and that only you can play your FFXIV account on. Its locked to the one account, simple.

3.You have 3 others(brothers sisters), that for some reason only want to play on the PS3, you would have to buy 3 separate systems. Unless they plan to take turns playing on One account and creating a character each, for that one account. Which kinda defeats the purpose of an online mmo, cause you would want to play together and have fun.

For the basic sub of $12.99 you get 1 character 1 server, I believe. And at $14.99 you get 8 characters for all servers.

    What? are you crazy? LOL

    1. You can log in with different PSN accounts on the same PS3. The ARR codes will be tied to PSN accounts, at one per account.

    2. One PC can have multiple accounts logging in at the same time

    3. They can have their own accounts and PSN accounts, just as long as they each buy the software for PS3. much cheper than buying 3 more PS3s..but of course they can't physically play at the same time, unless one or two hop on a PC.

    To answer OP:

    1. Yeah you'll need two separate accounts (unless SE has decided to allow us to use one account and log into multiple charas at the same time)

    2. Yeah you'll need two copies, unless you stay on PC and your wife plays on PS3. Note that wife can log into PC without buying the PC software.

    3. Second account is brand new, so no, it doesn't qualify for Legacy.

My bad. Hardly use my PS3. So why people making such a big fuss then?

So on one PC, I can have multiple, windowed FFXIV games(different logged in SE accounts) running at the same time?.. didn't know that either. Thought it would kick the user off the other game.

The fuss I guess is having to purchase the game for multiple PSN accounts, even in the same household, even if you already have an existing account. It's not like PC where existing accounts can just log back in with the new software.

As for PC: Yes, you can have multiple windows, theoretically, as many accounts as you have access to and as many as your PC can handle (though I don't know how people would seriously want to run more than two windows).

If you will only be playing the PS3 version when your wife isn't on it, you only need to buy 1 PS3 version of the game but she does need both a separate PSN and SE account.

So can my PC collectors edition v 1.0 login with my BF's PS3 as a guest? He'll have a ps3 copy but can I use his PS3 with my account when he is not using it? And I assume he could login to my PC version as a guest too? Sorry if the question is redundant, just wanted it cleared up.

You need to understand one thing about the SQEX Account, is that you cannot log into 2 characters of the same Service Account. You can however log into 2 characters of the separated Service Account.

If you do not understand what i mean...

The pictures show that i have 2 active FFXIV Service Account, this allows me to log into both Service Account at the same time, thus having 2 characters online from 1 or 2 PC.

The question you post asking about guest.. im not sure what that mean. there is no guest account/characters.
You can link your PS3 and PC so that your Service Account that is linked together can play either on PS3 or PC. Not at the same time.
