    yes, they said they'd make videos of all classes, so new people will know what it's about; my point is, they won't show it in LL. So instead of asking questions about it in LL thread, we can wait until they show the class videos
    ofc there's the chance that class vids come before LL, and phase 3 start after LL (like phase 1-2 did) in which case, you'll know about Arcanist before LL; which would still make the questions pointless.
    if they show arcanist in LL, then the class video would be a bit pointless instead.
    it's a matter of PR, and the PR team wont let Yoshi show arcanist in LL.
    can you point to any vid, where someone is playing with arcanist? i havent seen any of those.

    they haven't really talked about that a lot. they just mentioned that you cant dye AFs, at least to begin with; to keep their traditional identity. and that they'd keep a small selection of colors, so you dont end up with robes that look like neon signs, or some other color, depending on lighting conditions.
    i suppose that's something he could chat a bit about in LL.

    ARC = Archer
    ACN = Arcanist

    Yoshi has said that Archer isn't finished, but it was still bring played in Alpha/Beta

    ARC has been around a long time already though, and ACN is new, and ACN is Limsa class, so it wasn't available for those reasons. It would be odd to leave out ARC from beta, since it's Grid class.
    it would be nice if ACN was available in ph3, but i doubt it. I think they wanna release it when it's all polished up, as not to give it a crappy first impression.
    No no no, you missed my point. You were saying that ACN hasn't been shown since it was unfinished (months ago) and that's the reason we haven't been shown it, when in fact ARC has been in a much worse position yet they let new people play it without reservation so saying that about ACN is a moot point.

    We know ACN wasn't available to play in Beta, and it's not just because it was an LL class, Yoshi has stated a long time back that the class won't be released until Launch; polishing it up has nothing to do with it, since none of the classes are polished at all. That's kind of the point of Beta =b

    well even last LL, they said they were still working on the pet.
    and it is/was unfinished, since it's a completely new class.
    ARC has been around since start of 1.0. there's no reason to *hide* it. they are hiding ACN, cause it's new and unfinished.
    How do you know ARC was in worse condition than ACN? ^^ For all we know, pet might have been unusable; they were still working on it last LL.
    As for how ARC works in beta, that's nothing that can be talked about here

    you wont have to redo anything. all progress has been saved.
    they talked about it last live letter, and all they said was the above, and it's will be easier to follow what you need to do.
    i don't think they will say much more than that.

    hmm they said that items will have slots, that you fill with materia. higher tier items have more slots. you can put in more materias than you got slots, and that's multi-melding. items have stat caps, depending on tier, so you shouldn't go all out of STR materias, for DRG or whatever melee. would be nice with pvp materias, with some abilites or such, other than that...think it's just stat-stacking for now.
    also you can put any materia in any gear; so it's not limited to str in only weps, and gloves, or such.

    Phase 3 will have a bit more of campaign story, but they will keep most unavailable for beta, as not to cause spoilers.
    There won't be any echo related quests at launch, but later.

    yes, they mentioned in last live letter, that you can dye barding. i think only AF will be un-dyable; at least to begin with.

    i'm not sure what you mean, but different types of quests, have different icons, so you can easily see what quests they provide.

    I prefer this game as pay-to-play MMORPG though
    games usually go f2p, cause the company needs money, to pay back sponsors.
    XIV is funded by SE itself, so they won't need to go f2p.
    XI did well for 10years already, and is still p2p. ARR will probably be even more successful.
