The only issue with Triple/Quad-sli is performance scaling.
It starts getting bad after 2 cards.
Like from what I gather I would go from like 9k (single card score) to 16k or so with sli in the ARR benchmark.
    About 85% performance scaling?
But if I went tri/quad sli I'd only get a small bonus, compared to the 6k (85%) score bonus I got for the 1st additional card.
    It'd be like a 4k bonus, then a 3k bonus. or something?
So dollar value per FPS is blown way out of proportion on the third and fourth card.
    Unless I am misunderstanding it.

It is not; if your case supports bottom mounted PSU and has a hole to allow the fan to face down then thats the best way to mount it. PSU fans don't really move a lot of air to begin with; by having the fan face down you can allow your psu to draw in cool air as opposed to warm air. As Dhalmel already pointed out though, this is only good assuming your PC is not on carpet or there is enough room between the floor and the fan to move air. If its on carpet and there is not enough room then face it up. Cool air is better then warm air but warm is better then no air flow; the main purpose of that fan is to cool the components inside the PSU and cool air is best to do the job. That being said, if you have a good case with good airflow, then it really does not matter which way you face it.

I would just like to say I hate cases with loads of pointless LEDs. A solid, dark case, with sound dampening material > glowy case with windows.

Grats anyhow on the powerhouse machine, it is going to be more than overkill at max settings on a single 1900x1200 display. It's almost criminal to drop that much and not invest in a good 27" IPS screen capable of 2650x1440. A single GTX680 can run the game at max settings at 2650x1440 without any issue/good framerates, I imagine 2 in SLI will provide even more flexibility.

Eventually Yoshi wants to allow "Skyrim-like" graphical mods, so there's going to be some VERY purdy FFXIV down the line. Also they have mentioned plans for a DirectX11 version of the client which would have even nicer stuff in it, so yay for that as well.

I would just like to say that there is a parade nearby and you should go rain on it. lol..
If looking fun is pointless, man you must not have much fun..

"Hate" is a strong word and "Pointless" is a matter of opinion.

I am however looking forward to DX11 features and sli in ARR.
