There are no benefits for a MW over an AH, atleast not anything that can't itself be coded into an AH (and the convenience of not having to run all over the place with the AH gives it the edge) unless I'm missing something here?

You are, as already stated. Moreover, even if it was true (and it isn't) that "There are no benefits for a MW over an AH", "not having benefits" is no reason to scrap a system and replace it with another.
Scrapping a system just because "it has no benefits" over another is simply a waste of resources, and I shouldn't need to explain it.
