Upon death, character shouldn't lost Exp/SP, that's my Opinion on this matter. It's play annoying when you die, especially by incident and you lost your Exp. It makes me frickin NUT's.

Honestly why would you play THIS game with SP loss? One of the big things about MMOs is exploration and exploration in this game is way to dangerous. Mobs just one shot you for 3000 damage. Hell they have rank 60+ mobs in THE DAMN STARTER zones.
I think they should wait until after they implement chocobos, then make the death penalty one point of anima. They should also reduce the amount of anima you have to about 50 and make all of the aetherial gates only teleport you to the surrounding nodes. Which would remove the teleport from anywhere option. If you get to zero anima you should return to your home city if you're not raised.
Why not have death penalty? Stops people from mindlessly going into combat and not listening. People go in not fearing something and that 'OH I'll just run back from camp'...
Go play ffxi then you'd see how bad of an idea this is.
let them mindlessly die. if you havent died more than once then you would not know about the double weakness penalyt which does not let you attack anything
just sounds to me like people are mindlessly dying to leech exp/sp, i have not ran into anyone that problem on my server except one person who is pretty much have a don't care attitude.

@main post: The idea of losing xp/sp upon death is absurd. Losing durability on gear is an easily solved problem because all you need to do is have the item(s) repaired. And I really don't want to go out of my way to gain back my xp/sp, it's a pain in the ass.
I've got to say, XP/SP loss + this game = not a good idea to me. It doesn't raise the challenge. At all.
How bout neither? Both systems are stupid.
