How do I marry the Sultana? Do I have to do a quest to kill the bull? >.>
Thankfully it doesn't really matter what you're against, it's coming one way or the other.
Two things here.
First of all, marriage really doesn't complicate anything. 50% of the population won't know it exists. 40% will know it exists and be largely unaffected by it. 5% will utilize the system to marry their significant other or for RP, 4% will be the LGBT community that is angry they are left out. And 1% (and that's being generous) will be forum goers who have arbitrarily decided "marriage is bad, cuz internet debates."
Secondly, if you don't like debates, don't involve yourself in them. And also, other players getting married really does not affect you in the least. The only valid argument anyone has against the marriage system are those that have a desire to marry two same-gender characters and are being excluded. Whether or not you agree with their position, they're the only ones with valid anti-marriage arguments.
And yes, I am stating that your opinion is invalid. Because making the implication that a completely optional system that others will enjoy; requires very little dev time, and that you will barely even know exists unless you go looking for it, is in some way bad, just makes you a twit. When people arguing against minions have a more valid argument, you've gone too far.
Wow, someone needs to calm down. lol Yet more proof that adding marriage into an mmo is nothing but trouble. It's too hot button a topic. Add it without adding SSm makes one side feel discriminated against, adding it with SSM makes one side feel their game was "violated" in some way or something. The arguments get bigger and bigger and worse and worse. And talking about it on forums just invited mods in to have to scrub up the mess of the people raging against each other...Thankfully it doesn't really matter what you're against, it's coming one way or the other.

It's nothing but trouble. I know, I know, you can't take my opinion on this subject. But in my opinion, it really is, and should be left out of the game. But, as you said, it's coming. And there's gonna be problems. Ah well, hopefully I'll be too busy questing to notice most of them.
I think minions are silly and I won't utilize them but I don't begrudge others who want them, even if I have to trip over them.
I'm gettin' married, though.Don't see how this could bother or affect anyone else at all.
