sorry I hate to point this out but you do realize that anything besides the playstation network sale of FFVII or the pc download for the game make square enix absolutely no money at all right

Especially since this is a post about the ins and outs on how it would be a big risk for se to MAKE money on a remake of of a game that a lot of people want... And you're telling him and others that if they want the game so bad to purchase it from someone preowned.... Anyone else see the irony in it?

The only irony i see is in people that know nothing about business, game development or the industry, but still think they can teach people with decades of experience how to make money.

I was giving that person the only credit for posting 1 url to an actual place where se will make money off of it so yes besides those two places se doesn't get the money abriel. Se doesn't make money off of preowned games only the stores that sell them do. so yes my besides will stay put..

Aside from the fact that I have quite a bit of experience around the industry and in the business world. I do not go around stating that I have the perfect recipe for SE (or any other corporation) to make money, nor that it would be "easy", as stated around this thread.

alright then neither do i. I'll just keep believing in Yoshi-p and laugh at all the irony going around and the "risks" everyone is taking ~_^

Edit: on another note and a thought I had. square enix is a company that is built on taking risks i mean they do put out video games. Not to mention the beginning of this whole franchise was one big sink or swim risk for the original development team when it first came out. If said risks weren't taken we wouldn't have these games or maybe even the company to begin with just saying this for some thing to think on.

Ebay they get shit and amazon they get shit ie anything sold on amazon now and ebay are preowned games and make no profit for se

Wait wait, are you telling me that Squeenix, the people who own a huge chunk, if not the whole thing, of the Final Fantasy series, get no money from sales of their game on Playstation Online? Really? I would love to see the sources that say this, because I find it hard to believe. VERY hard.

Oh, you edited. Smart move. So yeah, they DO make money off of FFVII. And it's a lot less risky doing it this way and being guaranteed a buck than giving it a makeover and possibly bombing and screwing themselves badly. So... they should still remake this game because...?

Yeah yeah, sure. lol You're just quick to edit. Good for you. But never mind that. You still haven't answered my question. Since SE makes money off of FFVII as it is, they should risk doing a remake of the cult classic and pissing off a lot of people doing so, as well as destroying themselves in the process, because...?

A risk is nothing to them this whole franchise started on a sink or swim risk to begin with so why shouldn't they take a risk to do something to try to make the fans happy and may as well make them a shit ton of money in turn? Every new game they make is a risk. Ie This game was a risk for them and it FAILED to the point where to MAKE us as their customers happy they have to completely REMAKE the entire game from ground up including engines. Until they SAY that ffvii will be a risk that is when I'll agree that it's bad for them to take that risk all they're saying for now is we'll see. And at first they said they wouldn't do it because of how LONG it would take. BTW look at all the remakes and remastering they are doing to begin with IE Kingdom Hearts, (which is a remake of a remake btw) Final Fantasy X remake in hd and .... at this point in time a risk can sometimes be worth the taking. do you know the future outcome? I sure as hell don't but I keep an open mind about it.
