Momo Ochita From Ragnarok
Yes we want housing to cost Gil.
The main reason being that in order to balance out the economy, rich players need to be brought closer to new/poor players in order for a good economy to thrive in 2.0. Otherwise rich people will always be rich, and new/poor will have a much harder time.
This is why gil was reduced to 1/10th (giving new/poor players an advantage to make money) and also why housing will start off expensive, and drop in price over time. Evening out the economy. (assuming rich people will buy large houses)
Rather than just remove everyone's gil in 2.0 to make it 'even" (and pissing everyone off in the process) SE is giving us things to buy (housing) to make it seem like our money is going towards something useful.
ya but us smart people would just not buy anything and make more moneyYes we want housing to cost Gil.

I hope that all the house wont be bought by RMT and we have to buy from RMT AH .... that would be sad. I want to buy my house only from NPC
Sure you could skip buying a house for many months, but then you risk losing any bonuses housing will provide like XP/gil bonus (from furniture) Storage space and anything else they provide.
Sure, it's a tossup, do I buy a house? Or do I save my money.
But then you ask yourself, what else would I spend my money on?
how else do you plan to remove massive quantities of gil from the economy directly? this combats inflation and keeps prices of goods reasonable as long as people keep investing in the housing system.
furthermore, what incentive would people have to make *tons* of money if they knew they could only really ever just sit on it? this provides a practical function for the money earned by the game's mega-millionaires, and considering some people do play *solely* to make money, they finally have a way to show it off.
are we supposed to deny them this simply because some people don't make as much money, or are worried about RMT? and do you somehow think RMT wouldn't exist if there weren't housing? and if there weren't housing, where does the gil go that the RMT introduce into the economy?
yeah, so
Yes, we do want it like this, because housing is the premier gold sink in basically every MMORPG that has housing, and this game NEEDS a heavy gild sink to keep inflation down.Do you really guys want a system, where people that used bot or bought gils in 1.0, will have advantages over honest ppl? Of course I'm not saying that everyone in 1.0 was a botter or a gil buyer, but i know for sure that a LOT of them made TONS of gils by botting.
Also we know that houses will costs a LOT of gils, and that you can sell & trade them... This is a red carpet invite for RMT, dear Yoshi, dear SE, think about it.
Please make houses like an achievment/storyline completion reward. You completed the content? Here take your house, and not you bought gils or boted , here take your reward anyway.
Something like:
-You completed the lv 30 story line? Here take this small house.
-You completed both 3 storyline and killed Bahamut in super hard mode? Wow, you're a hero! Please take this LARGE MANSION for you and your adventurer friends.
Even in Wildstar the dev announced that you can get your own house by completing a lv 6 quest.
Gil sellers will have business whether you have to pay for houses or not, and honestly looking at your post it seems to me that you just don't wanna pay for them and you're using "gilsellers!"as an excuse.
If you're so concerned about people having more gil than you (whether they did it honestly or not, why do you care?), you can join one of the clean slate servers and start from scratch with everyone else.

If we can sell house. I hope they make it like you can't buy new one until you sold the one you already got. So atleast people wont get all house and no one able to buy any free spot from NPC
I did nothing but craft 1.22+ to make sure I had enough money for a large house come 2.0. I did my honest work and I get my reward. No reason to deny me that just because some people have holes in their pockets or are too lazy to craft!
