Changing topic already?
He hasn't and there's no reason to believe that they will, as there's no precedent for the company and he stated in multiple occasions that the game will purely be pay-to-play. There's no hint to cash shop anywhere.
I'm confused as to why this thread is still going.
Your question has already been answered.
We don't know if there will be a 'cash-shop' for pets.
There is no official answer, just speculation.
/endthread? (Wishfull thinking?)
I'm more going back on-topic than changing it... I was making a very simple point and you chose to ignore it. You couldn't get certain items/storage expansions on XI without paying extra... whether it was linked to a physical item is irrelevant in terms of how much it costs the user.
As for FFXIV, there's no indication so far that FFXIV pets will cost money, but there's certainly no indication that they won't. Therefore my opinion is just as valid as yours is.

I didn't ignore your point. I simply debunked it.I'm more going back on-topic than changing it... I was making a very simple point and you chose to ignore it. There's also no indication that the game won't be canceled tomorrow. This doesn't make it a valid theory in light of what we know. Therefore your FUD attempt has been dismissed. As for FFXIV, there's no indication so far that FFXIV pets will cost money, but there's certainly no indication that they won't. You didn't debunk anything, you responded to fact with "NUH UH! YOU'RE WRONG!" and looked like a blind lunatic fanboy in the process.
I even simplified it to this extent: you need to pay extra on top of your subscription for the Mog Satchel. (fact)
"NUH UH, NUH UH!"
Well, that's an interesting argument... well there is plenty of indications that the game won't be canceled tomorrow, but that's an... interest point. You're quite the debater.

Nope. I responded to misrepresentation with facts, and the fact that you can't counter them doesn't really make me a "blind lunatic fanboy", as much as you'd love to use that as a fig leaf.
Truth to be told, ff11 had microtransactions. U can't deny that even if Claus is prolly the least fun person on forums ;o
As for ff14, I don't belive they would make vanity-only things buyable with real money, however I wouldn't be surprised if they sneaked a few "services" that u'll have to pay for :S

I'm going to hop back in....
This is common practice actually.
•Server Transfers
•Recruitment Campaigns
•Extra Characters
•Race Change
•Name Change
•Apperance Change
•Region Transfers (rare)
These are commonly 'expensive' services designed to deter people, not as many people are going to willy-nilly hop-server/region if if costs £20-40 a turn.
However for things like Apperance changes like Guild Wars 2 "BUY THIS DYE PACK, CHANGE YOUR HAIR!".
For Guild Wars 2 this is appropriate, for XIV however it wouldn't fit as we pay a subscription.
