I would imagine the latter image to be Vylbrand in origin, perhaps Nym. And the former does certainly fit the bill for Sil'dih, but a side we have not sen yet. Perhaps inside it there's a dungeon entrance, and the other side of the cliff is the city-proper. We don't know if it's entirely underground, or if much of it is sticking out the other side.

    Very interesting stuff.

A good point. The statue resembles those of the twins, Nald and Thal, the Traders of Life and Death. They are the patron deities of Ul'dah.

...unless Sil'dih had the same patrons? (I'm not really prepared to make that leap in our trend of one city = one patron.)

I imagine that the statues are a representation of a god, which (as far as I'm aware) have been depicted as a...taller race. Although, I'm not certain why it would need to be a Lalafell? Was Sil'dih described as a Lalafell-only city?

Slightly off-topic: what information do we have about the various races religious beliefs? Have they all always believed in the same gods? How did the migration of races impact their beliefs?

On-topic: when I saw the concept art and excavation sight in the video, my impression was that Bahamut had uncovered, at least in part, the ruins. The open air part we see in the concept could have been part of the initial design or something else that was exposed by the attack.

Lalafewu Sil Tatawefu was the ruler in a long line of Lalafell rulers like Ul'dah too has. If your a Lalafell ruler your hardly going to commision a statue that looks like the peasants (not unless your some kind of super benevolent king) =P i mean unless the statue indeed depict's their city's Guardian.

I figure going by what we have the Sil'dih like to build things, were more advanced than Ul'dah using aqueducts and such. Byregot might be their Guardian?

"The grandness and elegance of the aqueducts suggests Sil'dih rivaled, or even surpassed, Ul'dah in architectural aptitude. Their culture was similar in some respects; even their names are similar, having **l'd*h in common."

They are in the image of Nald'thal, as seen at the Arrzaneth Ossuary, Milvaneth Sacrarium, Thal's Respite and Nald's Reflection.

Sorry, I wasn't clear with that. I was working from the perspective of it being a god, and was wondering if there was any reference to a god being depicted as a Lalafell.

It's very possible that two cities can worship the same member of the Twelve. Perhaps that's connected to Sil'dih's fall and Ul'dah's prosperity.

By the way, my work on the wiki has appeared twice in this thread! I can't wait to write with more certainty on Sil'Dih. Let's make Nenekko proud!

I was reading about Nald'thal and how it relates to Gemini. Maybe back when the two kingdoms were still rivals Ul'dah worshipped Nald and Sil'dih worshipped Thal. When Sil'dih fell Ul'dah took Thal into their worship like the immortal gemini twin (Pollux) shared his immortality with his dead twin (Castor).
