I have a question. If FFXIV introduces marriages. Which area would you want to get married in?

In the middle of the sea on a pirate ship off the coast of Limsa Lominsa? In a massive cathedral in the busiest and greatest city? Or in a majestic forest filled with moogles and elementals?

Well, not all of them. i can see there being multiple venues depending of the type of ceremony the bride and groom want. Almost all of the ffxi weddings I went to was the windhurst one with food offerings.

That's assuming marriages get off the ground, but that's a whole, 'nother can of worms.

(I dunno who I'd marry either. Though that hasn't stopped the offers.)

So when the era came to an end, something happened that led to the sanctum being rediscovered. So what is this place for? Well, in creating a world, we wanted put anything in it that is close to reality. Marriage is one of those things. That’s why we built the sanctum--so that characters and players can get married. The system for weddings--proper services and such--might not be available right from the beginning. It’ll most likely be added in a patch. However, we’ve already prepared a place for it.

As for same-sex marriage, this is an extremely controversial topic that has been under discussion in the MMO world for the past few years. First we would like to start out with opposite-sex marriage, and then consider the feedback from our players in order to make a careful decision.I can’t say whether or not it will be possible at this point in time. I’d like to keep dialog open with our players as we deliberate the matter.

I plan to marry my RL wife Kitty Swiftpaws in game lol as far as my views on same sex marriage..I say why not? If two people care enough to get married then why should gender matter? FFXI had Galka-Galka marriage which is the same as same sex marriage (some would argue that Galkas being a single sex race let this happen) so why make a fuss over it in FFXIV?
