Nagging Question in my mind : A Lalafells a staple diet for....

Look guys its just a question I had always in my mind when I first read the Miqo'te origins.

So what are the chances of lalafells been a staple food source for the early Miqo'te ancestors, during the Age of Frost? And the chances early lalafell communities find Miqo'te fur warm and fuzzy.

Fur? It's just the same hair on top of everyone's heads o_o (even real life human hair could serve as protection from cold weather) and I don't think their meat would taste any differently either /yuck

That is also another question. Since early Miqo'te ancestors made the journey across the sea of ice, during the ice age, what are the chance of them having a layer of fur. As time went by after the ice age, they became the Miqo'te we know today.

I'd say slim, unless they came from the same lands and migrated to Eorzea.

I won't say it's completely out of the question for miqo'te to snack on anything, as they are cats (animals), but for lalafells being a "staple"? I doubt it. Probably no more than a casualty here and there

My knee-jerk response to all three: Slim to none.
1) Nowhere in 1.0 do I recall any hint at cannibalism. While Lalafell are a different race from Miqo'te, they're still humanoid. Additionally, as far as I can remember, Miqo'te migrated to track food sources that they already relied on that were migrating themselves.
2) The only actual fur on miqo'te exists on their ears and tails. Given the minimal surface area of both appendages, it's highly unlikely that anyone would favor killing and skinning another bipedal humanoid race for such scant resources when other fully-furred game is already hunted for food.
3) The phenotypical loss of a trait as characteristic to a species as animal fur isn't typically evolutionarily knocked out in a period as short as the time between the Fifth Umbral Era and now. Change in melanin levels due to sun exposure? Sure. Complete loss of full-on pelts? Doubtful.

Due to them getting bonuses from eating raw fish (in FFXI anyway), I'd assume that would be their staple in their diet.
