I just had a (public) conversation with Ben that's quite telling.


And he concludes dropping this (alongside some personal attacks that I won't even bother quoting)



Notice how he completely evades the question on the percentage of the "guilty" comments, which tells me that it's most probably negligible. Can't endorse or discount it, but it's hardly anything to judge a whole community on.

And of course according to him linking an article in a forum and discussing about it (with people on both sides) is "organized forum trolling".

Once upon a time writers were happy to get more people linking and discussing their articles. I know I am. I wonder where those times have gone?
