The future of FINAL FANTASY XIV's music?

I apologize if this has been covered in the past, but I'd love to get developer insight on where the future soundtracks for FFXIV will be coming from. I'd very much like to see the musicians from XI make a contribution to the game as I feel they've given us some of the most memorable tracks in recent FINAL FANTASY history. Will Uematsu continue to support future expansions as well?

Lots of open questions that can only really be answered by someone from the development team, but hearing others' thoughts on the current soundtrack and what they'd like to see in the future would be great for discussion too.

I really enjoy what Uematsu did for the game but being that I haven't been able to forge that many memorable experiences in the game yet, I'm not tied to the music on an emotional level in the same way I was with FINAL FANTASY XI, or at least not yet anyway. Naoshi Mizuta and Kumi Tanioka have quickly become a few of my favorite composers from their work on XI and it would be amazing to see what they can do with Eorzea.

Yeah I loved XI's soundtrack and it was cool that Uematsu didn't do all it. I think its the fact that Nobuo was looking at rough sketches and not finalized versions of the game zones..in the making of eorzea I sensed this I could be wrong.

Wow right off the bat please keep Uematsu creating the music; he is amazing, and a decent chunk of the FF11 music grated my ears. The problem with the music in this game is that you have one track for gigantic; poorly designed zones, and, for whatever reason, they opted to keep the tracks very short. It doesn't change based on atmosphere within the zone (granted the zones have no atmosphere within their general tileset).

I've made this post in the past, so I don't really want to greatly expand on this again, but in WoW you have 28 minutes of music for one zone. In FFXIV, it's 30-45 seconds for zone music, maybe a minute for battle music, and then there's leve's music, so you get about 3 minutes of music for the entire sprawling zone [cutscene tracks are longer].

Combine these short tracks with forgettable zones and less than memorable experiences, and you're not going to get that attachment to the music. When they redo all the world zones, hopefully they also revisit the music to make longer; less repetitive tracks.

Interesting, although I loved the music in xi, I found the music that stood out the most, and the ones that I really loved were Uematsu's music

LOL you guys are stepping in sacred territory! Complain about Uematsu and you might get banned! (joking)

I do think FFXIV soundtracks are too "light"...some, like thanalan and coerthas themes, are almost even depressing. I really prefer soundtracks like Limsa one (which using the hammer sound as marker reminds me alot metalworks soundtrack) and thanalan battle theme (which reminds me FFVII boss fight theme), or some with martial beating, like FFXI's besieged/campaign themes.

But i loved FFXIV western movies-like chocobo theme ^^
