Gamespot ARR article. HOW DARE YOU DOUBT OUR YOSHI-P!!

I'm willing to agree with the Gamespot guy on this one. It sounds like Yoshi-P wants to make an orthodox modern MMO to a very high level of quality. It's probably hard to point to individual things that would make XIV:ARR different from other successful MMOs, especially if you consider XI. It looks like it takes ideas from a number of MMOs, and what probably will make it different is the inclusion of these many things altogether as opposed to being the trailblazer for any one thing.

Otherwise, it's a modern FF MMO, which may be the only thing it needs to be.

from start we knew YoshiP would put standardize that other MMOs has into FFXIV, from start we already knew this, What came to the question of the Author regarding the good point of FFXIV, is indeed the lore, story wise environment. He just chose to ignore that, because i can see this author only want to play generic MMOs and not for the essence of the game.

I think it's more a case of the author wanted to hear about what gameplay systems would make FFXIV different from other MMOs, when it's not the gameplay so much as the setting, polish, and IP.

You have to consider that the author has doubtlessly seen dozens of MMOs which were all quite proud of their setting and lore, and watched them fail.
