Sorry but quest grinding solo is the least fun thing in the entire mmo genre for me. It is simply not an option. It is why I could never get past level 50 in WoW... it is just too casual for a hardcore to play.

Casuals can have their solo, but it better not screw up my party play. This is a mmo not a offline FF game.
There are better ways to create incentive for party play than giving more EXP for playing in a party. Even right now, the really good gear for your level range is obtained by going through the dungeons that require a party to make your overall questing/grinding experience easier. There shouldn't be a forced way to play a game like this. I personally like accomplishing my leveling process on my own. I don't like my pace being determined by a group of people. The parts that require party play like dungeons, raids, primal fights, and so on are where the concepts of party play are most important to me. You should never force people to play in one way. It is a method that alienates a bunch of potential players for the game, and was a turn off to a lot of people about FFXI, how you were so dependent on others to get something so simple done.

If you want an adventure based solely on the reliance on your companions, good for you, that is how you want to play it. As for myself, I will go through content on my own unless a party is required to get a task done.
