But that's your choice to do that in GW2. Lol.. Which is the point. It's YOUR choice. It seems to me like you want people to play a game your way, which is less solo more shouting for hours for an XP group.. That's just how I am reading into you. I could be wrong since I'm running off a few hours of sleep.

No. This is a discussion. Ive told you my opinion on the matter. We are discussing it. I could care less if people want to solo in the game. I just dont want the GAME ITSELF to end up getting boring for me like some other solo heavy games that I played for 2 months and got tired of. I want a good game that I can enjoy for years to come. I enjoyed FFXI for 6 years. When the game started getting more and more solo/easy I got bored and left. I like to be challenged. I dont care if there is solo content, I just dont want it to get too excesive and cause the game to get boring too fast.

For one...it's the way the MMO market is going.

Personally I prefer about 60% solo play 40% group play with group play being required for "end game", and some activities while leveling/experiencing story at certain levels of play (I really liked the level caps back in FFXI...at least after level sync was added. Having to buy sets of gear for that cap was annoying...).

I like to progress my character myself without depending on groups for ALL of it. Don't get me wrong I like group exp grinding, but there were times when I wanted to progress, but on my own and still make decent progress (albeit was usually slower).

You don't have to worry, SE has stated many times that they plan to implement 24 man raids, or 16? can't remember but raids are going to be implemented. But If I see you doing FATE! which is kinda a solo event, you just go "Alone" and do FATE while others are doing it too no need for parties, but yea if I see you doing FATE there will be trouble as FATE is implement for people to have something to do solo, even tho the event will have many people doing it, it's still something one would do when they are playing solo.

I think both options should be viable. If people choose soloing over group play, then that suggests something isn't enjoyable about group play mechanics.
People asking for something like "solo leveling" is forcing me to solo level. Its like Aion having quest leveling and people on those forums saying mob grinding is still an option, so go do it, but the higher levels in Aion take about 200mil exp/level and mobs only give about 30-40k/kill (would take something like 5000 mob kills), and some classes can take 20-30sec/kill, while quest can give 6-15mil exp/quest that takes maby 10min's to do.

Unless they gimp the hell out of solo leveling/questing compared to every other game, it takes over mob grinding, the fact that mob grinding requires a party should mean its the main way to level while soloing remains a viable option. Making soloing a viable option to a party is far easier than the reverse.

People seem to think that we will do a type of leveling just because its there, if they add quest leveling and its twice as effective as mob grinding, im going to quest, hit cap level, and quit because the game sucks and I can win.

If they keep mob grinding and its 5 times as effective as soloing (takes 6 people), then I will party w/e possible and solo while im waiting. Solo people do want it easier, you want none to have an advantage over you even if they put in more work, this is virtually the same argument as casual vs hardcore. You want the ability to actually beat the game with your play time, when those with massive amounts of play time dont even want to be able to win the game, it should never end, for anyone.

First time in Bowl of Ember, this little Lala white mage was lost did not know the fight. I attempted to teach her best I could while also DPSing the fight but unfortunately we wiped several times. The leader raged called her a noob and disbanded the party. So what did I do? I sent her a ninja invite shortly after, found some people had my buddy tank the fight, me and the lala healed it together and we got 4 clean kills in before we disbanded. No weapon for the little lala but that she learned so that no one would call her a noob just cause it was her first time.

Moral of the story? The little lala with her little whm hands farmed solo to get her lamp so that she may face off with the fearsome Ifrit and with the help of a group of adventurers she slew the mighty beast and returned to her lala family with her head held high. You can't have just group content or just solo content there needs to be in integral balance between the two.

It does seem to totally defeat the purpose.
I mean if you want something focused on solo but allows for online multilayer, try Monster Hunter or Borderlands. The MMO genre seems wasted on solo focus.

I asked a few pages back, what is FATE??

From what you've said it sounds like Open World Bosses/Events like GW2 has (which I only did if I happened to be there doing something already when the event started).

However, if there is some gear/item/really cool thing there to be had I'll probably do it until I get it. Im a gearist. Not necessarily JUST for the stats. I like to look cool too. I have several subligars cause lets face it...they are subligars...And the very..erm...skimpy...armor that was released shortly before 1.0 shutdown.

Also I hope we get some kind of "cosmetic" tab in our armor tab.
