It's actually incredibly fun. It's quite relaxing traveling 1000 miles across Europe...and the 70,000 euros I can make per day is nice too. It has some RPG aspects too. You gain EXP and when you level up, you get a skill point. Use the point to get skills allowing you to haul more dangerous cargo further and for more euros. You also get to own a Truckin' business, and manage that too, your truckers go out and make you money, and level up and get skills just like you.
Each truck can be heavily customized. You can upgrade your engines, transmission, chassis, etc for performance boosts, and you can buy cosmetic things too like bumpers and different lights to put on those bumpers, bigger sleeper cabins, more complex paint, different door handles and mirrors, it's crazy. The demo is on Steam so I'd recommend the demo. It's actually quite long and if you buy the game after the demo, the saves transfer to the real game.
