I really wouldn't take Facebook likes as a solid interpretation of fan reaction.

It should be duely noted that it's not really a widely reported fact that FFXIV is going to relaunch. SWTOR latches onto Star Wars fans who never even plan on buying the game.

All I said was "It seems like every single person on FFXIV facebook page is excited for this game!" Every one on the Facebook page.. It's good to see people "excited" ya know. since were close to beta I though I give more insight on how the reactions are.

Yeah, most will be like " I can't wait for beta", then there's others that say " I hope it works out better than 1.0".

I can honestly say from observing sales correlations with other subjects (music, books, etc.), FB likes and Twitter followers have zero to do with actual interest or sales.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about how many Facebook likes the game has, there hasn't been a huge marketing push for ARR yet to mainstream gamers, this media tour marks the beginning of their ramp up. They're doing the smart thing (and the necessary thing after the game's original failure) and focusing on retention before acquisition. They need to make sure the people who play and see the game have nothing bad to say about it before they try to win over the mass market.

Yoshi is showing off ARR to the different media sites. Phase one of Marketing ARR. The NDA is in effect until Yoshi and co. return to Japan, so we won't see new info until after the tour when the media NDA is lifted.
