every MMO I played, I can jump
every MMO I played, I can jump
I honestly don't think a jump addition to this game was ever necessary. I personally can't find any use for it considering the current movement, battle environment with obstacles, quests, crafting, farming and battle system.
It may be fun what it's at the bottom of the list of things that can actually improve the overall experience of the game right now.
And besides for those heavy armoured people wanting to jump, have you ever consindered how heavy a chainmail, helmet and sword or axe is? Just think about it.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Hehe using ragnarock and ultima online as examples. those are SoooOoOoOooooo Old. I think the oldest MMO with jump is Anarchy online.
I don't count any 2D or 2.5D![]()

just because WoW can jump?
is it a reason that people anti-jumping so much?
I would imagine most people "Myself included" Think jumping would turn out to.
1. Be a pain in the arse to implement without looking stupid or being flat out broken.
2. Look stupid when everyone is spam jumping "Looks downright embarasing in WoW"
3. Break any sense of immersion we have when we are looking at a beatifull vista and someone comes running by jumping up and down cliffs infront of our faces.
4. It's not needed at all and has no place in the game how it was built.
Those are just my reasons but I can't imagine that I am alone on this. Jumping unless it's somehow contenxtually based will just creat a sub-culter of jumping freaks.
Where are they going to find a dude the size of a galka to jump for there motion development!!
Nah on a serious note most of the collision has been removed but there are still some parts, if you fight the New NM in Nawawa that litte ramp in the room will still get ya. There a few other places MOST are fixed though(don't hurt me)..
I'm still for jump although I never had a problem with it or believed that I wanted it because another game had it. Just maybe I has some traumatic moments falling off the cliff while fighting Roc WHO KNOWS -.- lol
As mentioned earlier in this thread, your conclusion here is entirely false. The current terrain is based only around X and Y travel, making it seem VERY linear, cause it is. Add a new dimension. and you have a whole new element to gameplay, to think otherwise is simple and utter close-mindedness and a failure to think outside of what you're used to in this game.
The current terrain is no less 3d than it would be if jumping were possible, since mobs and locations would remain on a 2d ground. Even in Aion, a game with actual 3d terrain that you're alluding to (that introduced flying on top), the NPCs/mobs and locations are undoubtedly on an X/Y system. So unless the devs are willing to devote time to an XYZ system that includes NPCs and mobs as well as locations such as buildings, jumping is still useless since the only use for it is to get over obstacles like rocks, cliffs, or the sort that'd only require a 'situational jump' system to begin with.
