FFXiV:ARR Collector's Edition for Legacy members?

Some of us have the old CE and would like the new one as well, considering we get the new client for free the OP's question is completely valid. Get off your high horse much?

It should not be for Legacy members though but for everyone who owns a CE edition. I plan on buying the CE PS3 anyway...

Thebard, i preordered the original CE for $79.99, and 2 months after launch the game bottomed out on amazon at $5. I think me and a lot of others who bought the original CE has paid in full for the game client, and it would be absurd to ask us to pay for it again. And based on SE's stance, they agree with me. In fact, if SE had not restructured the team and made a commitment to fix their mistake, I would have asked for my money back because at launch it was a broken game. I have also paid for the "fixed" version of 1.0 by paying their subscription and getting legacy status. And, now that 2.0 is coming out with a Collector's Edition, I want to purchase to be able to purchase the contents of the CE minus the game, which I have no need of because I have already paid for it(at its peak price, i might add). I also want to be able to keep my legacy status and characters from 1.0. And honestly, I was pretty sure upon posting this that SE would be happy that we would want to buy CE items after the first launch flopped, especially the digital bonuses because their is no cost to them to distribute them.

And bear in mind that if I purchase the CE and then sell the game out of it for a little less than the retail value, I will lose the difference and SE will lose the same difference (in potential sales if the customer bought the game at full retail from SE instead of at a discount from me), so in fact offering us a way to purchase the items since we don't need to purchase the game is mutually beneficial.

Actually thats a little bit false. For MMO's you need a registration key. If you resell it, sure you'll have the game but can't play it without an account. Thats actually the reason I never buy used MMO's.

I agree, I want to know what 1.0 CE owners will need to do to get the benefits of 2.0 CE. It seems a little pointless to have to pay full price for another activation key and another account that we might never use just to get the special item codes and fun pretties in the box. I'm willing to pay extra for the 2.0 CE but I dont need the extra account.

An "Upgrade" option would be fantastic.

If you want something, then pay for it. You don't deserve another discount, Legacy status is your discount.
The collectors edition sans game is not a terrible idea, people would buy that.

I think, collectors edition sans game (and additional account) is exactly what we are asking for. My question to you is should it be the same price as CE W/game and additional account? If so, why? In my opinion it would be like buying a hamburger but being charged for cheese and bacon even though its not there and you don't want/need it.
