OH GOD NO. If they do this I quit instantly ^_^
I would disagree with this point. Yes the current party search function is not used but people are far from ignorant, in fact I would argue that the populations are of a size now that I know and recognise most of the names I see when I'm online (even JP ones) and if I don't know them someone in my linkshell is in a linkshell they are in etc etc.
As for not getting a party - pick up your leves, go to camp and shout. I guarantee you it will not take long to get a group, or do a Behest and ask as it ends if anyone is doing leves. Talk to people, they'll talk back to you, it's that easy. It really is, people are just too shy to make that little bit of effort.
As for the party search function, it looks too complicated if you haven't used it and that's its downfall, people see complicated they think complicated. [Personally I'd just like to be able to put up a flag like FFXI, but that's just me.]

Yeah I'd prefer if they'd just let us put up our flag for LFG + search comment, this games party search system is dumb.
I had a suggestion for LFP and seeking members on guildleves in the interface sub-forum go take a look and see what ya think.

Everyone in this thread that does not want SE to copy at least SOME of the successful ideas in WoW and other WRPGS are stupid idiots and YOU are the reason for this game will fail.
Taking GOOD ideas that worked in a very sucessful games is the BEST thing SE can do right now because all of SE ideas SUCK ASS when this game launched and all of YOU people asked for a change.
With that being said i dont particularly want a cross server que per say but i also do not want to never find a party. (like this game is now) You can not find a party at all. so CHANGE needs to be made and as far as i know there is NEVER a issue with finding a party in WoW soooo people in this thread needs to stop being so damn ignorant to sucessful WESTERN ideas because eastern devs suck in this day in age... Sorry to say.
Not copying evil western MMOs is clearly working for SE I mean we have what 20k-30k players after 7 months? Thank god they went with that tried and true Eastern MMO style.
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
I'd rather SE take concepts from their previous FINAL FANTASY games like XI did, or even borrow the basics and event system items from XI (that was a successful MMO of theirs) than start ripping off random MMOs. Most MMOs post 2004 are realistically just a clone of WoW, which was a clone of many MMOs before it, so all they would be taking is the basic chat system, jumping and leveling through quests while leaving out as much story as possible.
I don't know about you, but I play MMORPGs for socialization and storylines...RPGs have storylines, most MMOs do not. FFXIV can do very well not going down the path of having a storyline told only through a slideshow or website backstory.
sorry to say this, but...the game have a proper finding tool, why they should do a cross-server copy-pasta from wow ?Everyone in this thread that does not want SE to copy at least SOME of the successful ideas in WoW and other WRPGS are stupid idiots and YOU are the reason for this game will fail.

the problem isn't the finder don't working properly.
Leves give tons of exp on a minimal amout of time, while party give (some) less with more spending of time, obliusly people do only leves .
Or they nerf badly leves, or give a huge boost to exp dropped by monsters in party.
Or may even bring the abyssea exping method in ffxiv: an incremental exp bonus while fighting in party
I don't see how you can take idea's from previous single player games and adapt them to multplayer experiences, last I checked when playing FF7-10,12 and 13 you don't invite members to your party, you don't chat to them, you control all members.I'd rather SE take concepts from their previous FINAL FANTASY games like XI did, or even borrow the basics and event system items from XI (that was a successful MMO of theirs) than start ripping off random MMOs. We are asking for things that makes the game more accessible, FF11 had very few things that were accessible and instead of using the /sea and LFP system they tried to come up with a different party interface which totally fails because its too confusing for most people to want to bother with.
Gamers are lazy, yes they want to click one button and be added to a group and go and do their thing, you may not like that but that's what people want these days, they don't want to be standing at a camp or in town shouting spam for hours.
