NOOOOOOOOooooooooooo...........*splat*
No because the only point of that is when you playing a game that you need other char to level a class. Seeing how one char level everything it's not needed in FFXIV. Why they never change that in FFXI is anyone guess but thank god it not added in ffxiv as bad as it was in ffxi.

I see no reason to add limitations by race. It was sorta pointless in XI as well. One of the games greatest strengths is being able to do everything without an alt, keeping every class on an even playing field fits that model.
I'm inclined to agree, the difference in stats amongst races in FFXI really gave some jobs a very undeserving edge or disability just for being a certain race, which imo hurt the mechanics especially given that certain stats are more valued than others. For example, a Taru PLD would likely last a bit longer solo than a Galka PLD due to the Taru's obscene MP pool, even if the difference is only a few hundred MP, that MP could equal a few thousand HP recovered versus the 300-400 extra HP a Galka might have over the Taru.
Now just think of all the implications it would have towards endgame events pre-ARR like 1.0's Garuda, it would be obvious Lallafells would have an overbearing advantage when it came to the BLM zergs, yet a regimine of Galka MNK's/DRG's might destroy competition on things like Miser's Mistress, your entire performance might make or break a run solely on your race. I'd rather not run into such situations especially where they have been trying hard to keep racial differences and jobs as close to possible in performance so skill and gear is a more dependent factor than racial stats.
(And yes I realize I may be exaggerating my point a bit.)

I wouldn't want the race bonuses. Since as previous posters have stated this is all about being who you wanna be and still having an equal chance at anything (if that makes sense)
I wouldnt mind one itty-bitty passive that has more to do with other elements than combat. Like some kind of movement speed boost for Mi'qote during the day or night depending on their clan. Ya know small stuff like that.
I want you to throw away your caps lock button...but it ain't gonna happen...
"Oh you want to Monk or Dragoon in this content? Nope BLACK MAGE!" Suffice to say, this already happened in FFXIV.
Sadly, this is the only community that would argue against this even though other MMOs can implement racial/class bonuses of some kind without complaint :\

This is an idea I like! A little race-specific something that wouldn't be game-breaking but still something to set you apart from the others.
Something like a mini critical attack chance+ for Rogaedyn during a certain time of the day, maybe a mini defense boost for elezen?
Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
