Shared hairstyles, new hairstyles and changing them

Perhaps if you read this thread and also the JP forums you will find its not just me. Perhaps if you read the dev/mod post on this very page you will see that you are mistaken. Perhaps you will be happy with any old rubbish SE serves you up?

You are asking the dev team the impossible if you want 10 times the amount of hairstyles. Yes the JP want more. I want more, but we will not get more if it will come at the cost of game speed and performance come launch. And launch is the point where the servers will be facing a lot of traffic and new users on both pc and ps3. All the hairstyles in the world will not make up for a laggy experience where the game can only load a small piece of the mmo throng.

All we have seen is 1 new hairstyle for each race, unlocking of racial hairstyles (some anyway) boob adjustment, tail length adjustment and 3 unlocked genders, some increase in available colour palettes has been announced. Add this to what we had in 1.0 and we still have a laughably weak character creation system, so yeah we need more, so I ask for more. I will keep asking for more long after you have given up on this thread and after you have seen the 20th identical twin of Kallera Etoile walk past you on day one of relaunch.

Again you asked the impossible in your initial post. And really, you are blowing the character creator way out of proportion. I find the concerns of managing even larger amounts of hairstyles and colors within a mmo community a lot more believable than the "problems" you are describing, which I personally haven't run into during my playing of FFXIV, nor would I consider it a problem even if, by some stroke of good taste that it did exist. They aren't me, nor will they play or talk like I do.

Lag and bad game performance in the other hand, are much bigger issues which we all saw at 1.0s launch, and would not want the PS3 crowd to experience in any measure close to our own. This is a new audience for SE, another branch of revenue. and I appreciate the dev team's care regarding this, while keep the door open for fan input.

I would just love longhair for Miqo'te, something really pretty and flowing! If the female Roe longer hairstyle is available it may work on a Miqo'te...some of the Miqo'te do not look so good on the Hyur.

We need more Faces, Noses and cheek options. And they should have higher priority than haircuts because we will be able to change haircuts later in the game but the face options itself shouldn't be changeable. So we need all face options at the games launch.

If other MMOs pull off having 60+ hairstyles and sliders for customizing every part of the character's face and body without collapsing network traffic, I don't see why it would be impossible in FFXIV.
